Hey guys, I too am a recent graduate of V6Z24... still love the site! Anywho, i posted a thread in the performance section and we have come to the conclusion that simply having my chip burned is the way to go.
i was wondering A) what hardware/software I would actually need to burn a chip and are the chips a 1 time burn or can you re burn the same chip a million times? and B)... could someone make me a chip instead :oops: :oops: :oops:
I have a modded 3.1L TGP motor and we currently have the stock TGP injectors a 3 speed tranny w/ a shift kit, all kinds of engine mods (heads/plenums/cam/etc.) but we will be running around 14psi so TIMING IS THE ISSUE! :( We need to remove the speed limiter and change the timing curve basically... thinking 1.5-2 degrees of retard /lb of boost? Sound about right???

Now skeeming though some old post won't hurt. Also..You might want to know some more about your engine..like what your "ballpark" Volumetric Effeciancy is at what rpms and what your power goal is.

As far as hardware..hit ebay for the wiliams eeprom programmer, or get the Poket programmer and emulator (supported by GMPCM) on said site above, Moats also has both.
A Wide band O2 is a must..even a pyrometer..but a WBo2 is a must. Too many differnt deals on thise.
Tuner cat,GMPCM for software. You can also use WINBIN and a code mask I keep modding...unfinished though.
As far as monitoring systems go (ALDL) ,, Diacom is dam good (if you have a older PC--Windows ME tops, MS-dos based), then the rest.. like datamaster, EFI Live, and DIY type scanning like FreeScan, ALDL deamon and Some othe Moats type scanning..http://pweb.de.uu.net/pr-meyer.h/aldl.htm#aldlmon
Also a stand alone monitoring systems like Zeitronix is valuable. As I'm saving for this as we speak 8) .
