I did a little poking around and found a place that lists our transaxles on their website for sale.
http://www.certifiedtransmissions.com/productsbody.asp
They're stock rebuilt units supposedly for $1317 total(includes a core charge and shipping. Core = $175, Shipping is listed as $200. They also have the option for our transaxle tag id. I thought there were more than two id tags for our transaxles, but I need to search for the older posts to confirm that. I'm sure Jeff, Jud, or someone else probably knows offhand).
Anyways, any of you guys ever had any experience with this company? I believe this very same company(at least one location/shop) is one that can build us some very nice performance transaxles(they've built 4T60-E's and 4T65-E's up to hold A LOT of power. For example, one 4T60-E they built is living just fine behind a W-body that's only a tenth or so away from running 11second ET's. That W-body also likely weighs around 3400lb+). I haven't contacted that particular branch of the company yet, but I have been in contact with someone else that says they can build us a very nice transaxle(more on that later) and/or offer parts/kits for us to build our own.
IF this company actually has our transaxles in stock and they're really the "Turbo" spec units, that seems like a pretty good price, even with shipping & the core charge.
Although I'm not sure that this is the same company that ZZP uses. I brought my STE to Certified (the one that ZZP uses) when I was having problems with my first rebuilt trans and they quoted me $1800 to do the whole thing, labor and all. That isn't a bad price really. They were going to replace all kinds of stuff that I wouldn't have even replaced if I did it myself. Now that I look back on it, its a pretty good price, but at the time I thought it was steep and didn't spring for it.
I'll tell you what though, if I have problems with this trans I will probably be contacting this company and getting one of their trans shipped to me. Looks like a pretty good deal.

Shawn, the place listed above isn't the company ZZP uses. They list all their seperate locations on that website I believe and I didn't see anything from Michigan. The one ZZP uses is "Certified Automatic Transmission Service." I need to contact the one in Michigan and see if they will offer parts packages or performance rebuilds for 4T60's, pretty sure they will do it, but it might get expensive for some that will hold up to a lot of power.
I've dropped a couple grand on tranny work, that is to be expected.
Anything around or under 2000 would be reasonable. I don't know that is with them doing the swap.
I got people to help with that part.
