OK heres the think I have a HUGE water leak inside my car. Now I know what you are thinking and now my heater core and its hoses are still good. Almost every time it rains I get 2 inches of water inside my passenger foot area in front of the seat. Now the thing that bogles my mind is it doesn't depend on how much it rains, let me explain. Yesterday it rained a little bit where i live and my car had water in it. Now last week when it poured, no water :? :bad-words: . I took the black peice that goes under the dash that covers all the wires (on the passenger side) off and it was soaked. I have an idea where the water is coming from but i was curious if anyone else has had a problem like this?
drain for the Evap core housing is most likely plugged....
Evap Core drain tube normally backflows when the A/C is being used...not due to rain. If it rains and leaks without the car moving...you get wet feet on that side and it is up high, I would be looking for windshield voids allowing water in...Rust anywhere around the windshield trim?
If it does it when you are driving it could be a number of places. Any of the firewall plugs could be leaking allowing water to find it's way in...door seals (not probable if you are finding water up high in the dash). Could be your Evap drain tube is missing and allowing water in through the channel back up in the car (doubtful).

I like your other ideas too :!: 8) .....:? But don't the rain water/car wash water going down the HVAC inlet vent up by the wipers feed into the same area?
Seen a trick where you crank the fan to max and select the "Vent" or "Heater" (not "MAX" AC) and close the doors then use a super soapy wash cloth to wipe over areas of the outer car to see if bubbles form to find a leak that might allow in rain.

Ok I found one leak, it was from where the blower motor sucks in air by the wiper motor. I took my entire interior out (including Carpet) and my wiper assembly out, put a hose were the wipers were and sat in my car. To my suprise the water was just pouring in. I mean it was like a river flowing in my car. So I re-sealed the opening and that fixed one leak the other is from my windshield molding somewhere. I need to track that one down but it wasn't leaking in enough water to notice. Thanks for all your help I really appreciate it. :D

Guess that guy "Jeff" guessed it?
Thanks for the reply on what you found/might still find, its always very interesting to me when we get a new challenge to work on and learn from, especially since this is an odd one I have yet to hear others have. Sorry dude, that must be a bummer to have so much water running into your ride, glad you are not affraid to tear into it and get it fixed 8) ! So in "resealing" that opening what opening was that, one that was not supposed to be there like something split open or fell out???...or what?
Really WOULD LIKE to see pics of the dash out and all  , seriously, that would be something I would give for as its the only thing I have not taken apart on one of these cars!
Keep up the great work, and continued good luck man 8)

My oppologies i was not very specific on what I fixed.

I re-caulked (re-sealed) the HVAC inlet. It had like a foamish sealant around the opening but the water was going right through it. I know, I know it looks like crap but it works. I was just in a hurry when i did that plus no ones ever going to see it anyways.
And I'm sorry Jeff I had already put everything but my carpet back in before your post  . But I will be taking the dash out again to fix my radio wiring that is just hanging down behind the radio.

Well I had felt that all the water was coming in your HVAC inlet up by the wipers, where it came out; well...was on your carpet all I knew for sure

You don't have to if you don't want, it was just a chance to see the only thing I have not torn apart, yet  And late/stupid of me to forget, sometimes owners with limited air flow out of their HVAC system have found the heater core and/or evap core fallen down and blocking the air flow, I would have suggested taking a look at this since you were already there, sorry I forgot

How hard is the air supposed to blow?
Mine seems to be blocked slightly because I remember when I first got my car 5 years ago it blew TONs of hot air. Then shortly after all my problems happened it is a lot less blowy. I was thinking it was partly because of the cooler stat.
Dude I hope not remembering to tell you and you do have that problem is not the case :bag: , sorry. But yea I think they blow pretty strong, maybe you know someone else with a near year GP to compare to long as theirs is not blocked some. Maybe your hole was from one of the coils falling down? :? Might want to check it, again

Hopefully thats all it is. I might have a mouse nest in there too.
I know they can fuck up a car in 6 months so you don't even recognize it.
Just found another nest in the conduit under the back seat.
They had chewed through the wireloom and then stripped all the black and red wire jacket off the ABS sensor wire. Fuckers are trying to kill me!
Don't ask, long story. Shows dash and a lot else removed. Took me and a few helpers 4 hours to get to the bottom picture.

I did that to my parts car. Your roof got stripped way better that I did.
But I ripped more of the front off. Nice work !
A lot of fun it is. Especially when you got parts to back it up.

Sick to see one go, but waaaay cool to see the skeleton  :D And you got a lot of good parts 8)
Thanks Chris!!! I swiped a copy of your interior and exterior shots, to use maybe on my web site if that is ok? (credit: "Chris A" will be given) Someday when I can add enough categories for the details I will find a good place for them.
