Title: Lost with the Willem programmer
Post by: TGPilot on December 02, 2005, 09:58:11 PM
Well this is no surprise to me...but damn it I am lost with this Willem!

Ok guys.

I erase the chip...says ok
I load the .bin from my files...says ok
I read the chip...says ok
I verify the chip and get...Error at 0x000ACE  Chip = 0xBF buffer = 0x04

*edit* If I read it and verify it over and over it shows different addresses.

What am I doing wrong?

I bought the "willem" from www.mcumall.com and it is a dual power supply setup. I am running 0.97ja because 0.97g will not run. The jumpers are in the proper place as shown on the diagrams. I have the short in place from 3 <-> 31.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I only got verify errors when I had a low 12v power supply. I now use a 18V and never got the erro again. I think its because of my 28c256 eeprom or just the operating voltage of my programmer. I have the older V3.1 single side, Design:ATH from ebay. I did see a 12v voltage regulator..so my 12 supply was just barrely doing the job. Maybe steped down to 10 or 11 volts before or after the regulator.??? but in any event....it works fine now.

Ok received my replacement Willem last night. Works perfectly. Guess it was DOA out of the box.
