Title: CHEAPEST Turbo Fix
Post by: Air TGP on January 10, 2006, 09:24:53 PM
I blew the T25 again and its bruning oil like crazy..  i can rebuild it again but it cost me 150 bucks for the rebuild kit and it takes a while to do.  Is it cheaper for me to have my T25 rebuilt or can i buy a turbo for reasonable that will bolt on and not be too much fabercation to make it work??

Im talking CHEAP! like 1-200 bucks max fix, i'v dropped soooo much money in this car i'm getting very fed up with it.

what do you all think is my best bet??

Are you sure its the actual turbo unit and not say the oil return line?  You will be lucky getting a turbo rebuild for $100-$200 maybe if you do it yourself.  If its that bad of a car, consider a new one?  I'm sure you have figured out by now, these aren't the greatest everyday driver cars if they are beat on in the slightest over time.

I have oil everywhere inside my downpipe. i have not check to see if its before the turbo as well,(it better not) but im puffing alot of oil. I do have a -6 feed line which i hope is the reason.i will be swtiching to a -4,  but would that ruin the seals either way??? i don't have a T25 but they are all basicly the same right?

make sure the oil return line isnt colapsed inside, replace it, and see if it helps, ATPturbo.com has one under oil supply in the catalog. Also if you run too much oil pressure it will seep out the seals, and Ball bearings dont need as much oil either.
