Would boxed rear control arms be beneficial to a FWD car? I know that the Turbo Buick people use box control arms to help with handling and launching.
I would redo them with tubular steel. thats my plan. The "U" channel steel is flimsy and can easily bend. I think handling would be a little tighter with tubular steel arms and you could even make them adjustable for dialing in the rear geometry.

we are talking about the control arms right... NOT the trailing arms... the trailing arms are made of the u-channel steel and are easily bent... but make them stronger will not make any difference in handling.. the control arms are what absorbes the lateral forces.. making those stronger and adding urathane bushings would most defenetly improve handling.. anything you can do to keep the suspension from shifting even 1 or 2 degrees would help.. i know the 97+ gp guys have them

It wasn't specifically indicated which of the links we were referencing, since the rears technically don't have control arms. I think that all of the rear links are flimsy and can be improved upon. The pictures on the GPStore site are exactly what I was thinking of. In fact, I think the newer Impala has adjustable tubular links stock, dunno how much the impy shares with the GP now.
