Ok, so admit it. You never knew me anyhow...lol. I've been registered on this site for a few years now I think, and I'm pretty sure I only posted once. I've been hovering on the site for a long while now, wishing I had another TGP. I used to own a 89 TGP red, tan, leather, but I sold it when she died. Not entirely sure what happened; she just died. 4 auto shops later couldn't figure it out, so I sold her for $2500 DEAD....yeah that's right. Bought a '93 Camaro with that money, but at night, I couldn't sleep right. I needed to get another TGP. Nearly two years later, I stumbled across Air TGP's For Sale post...I live in southern Minnesota, and he lives in western Ohio.
Well, what can I say? I couldn't have asked for a better car from a nicer guy. Dan, you really are the shit! Anytime you're in the area, stop in! But yeah, a buddy and I drove the 850 miles there, 850 miles back, just to go pick up my baby. Road trips are fun, unless you're travelling on I90/I80 the whole time...nothing but cement and dead grass, and service stops. But overall it was a fun experience, we made it there and back just fine, and I now have my '89 TGP.
So, for all of you who don't know me, my name's Kyle, and I'm from New Ulm, Minnesota. If anyone is ever anywhere nearby, stop on in! Any questions or comments, just go ahead and let me know! I hope to talk to all of you soon!

well, welcome! (back)
thats a pretty hefty drive! I was glad I found a friend to drive with me from PA to Ohio to get mine...don't know as i could have talked him into taking his car 850 miles!
Welcome back!
Post up some pictures when you get a chance. 8)
Thanks! Yeah I have to get some pictures snapped...find a digital camera someplace around here **searches**...We actually took my wagon down there. '92 Buick Roadmaster Estate wagon with a 350 and limited slip rear end...true sleeper 8)...and you know, she was excellent on gas...I think total I spent less than $230 on gas there AND back on just the wagon...shame I have to let her go, though.
It really helped that my friend and I are like brothers so we didn't get pissed at each other or get annoyed with each other. Fun drive. Good times 8)
Ok, so I snapped some pics, but I'm lost...how do I go about getting them up here? I'm not too terribly thread-smart lol.

Looking good 8)
Less the seat covers
The whole reason behind the covers is simple:
A) my drivers seat is scary without them lol
B) my passenger and rear seats are mint and I don't want anyone to ruin them.
The rear covers were a complete pain to get on, but I do feel they're worth it. :)
Just noticed your fuel door doesn't have the little finger nub sticking out. Do you have a release for it inside the car or do you just use a fingernail to get it open? Thats someting I've been looking into to kinda clean up the side of the car there but hadn't gotten around to yet.
Yeah, there's a lever right next to the hood release for the fuel door. I know both my 89 TPG's had it...I assumed both years did? ??? The two levers kinda fit into each other...however, my fuel door doesnt open from the inside anymore, although I had the switch. The spring got lost inside the panel, so I just manually open it. Anyone else know if the gas door lever was on both year TGP's? Or was it strictly an 89 thing?
Double K.
hmmm... that's kinda cool, might have to find me one of them
Also, just noticed you have a different style rear deck than I do. Other 89's have that too??
I've had both an NA and a turbo'd 90 and neither of them had either feature.
are your lugs chrome or are they the black plastic covers?
I like that fin, I had one like that on my NA 90 but it hit the antenna on my TGP... weird.
Also, got any pics of the cockpit? just wondering if there are other differences on your TGP.
What's the white spot on the top of the passenger side on the hood? paint flaking off? Looks like its sticking up from the hood... sponge maybe?
Well, if the snow let's up today, I'll snap some cockpit shots...I've been needing to. My trunk lid is acutally off of a 94? I beleive GP, spoiler attached. This way I have both the original in unharmed condition and the aftermarket. Yeah they're chrome lugnuts, I think they dress up the rims perfectly. I remember hearing someone saying that an 89 has a performance sound button on the side (my does so duh on my part), and a security lighting switch, both of which weren't available on the 90 tgp...I think thats correct. Also the 90 tgp's had ribbed leather seats while the 89's had flat back paneled.
Anything else I can help you with I'd love to. I'll post those pics as soon as I can take them. Nice to talk to you by the way ;)
