man i fucked up. the molding on my power sunroof was falling apart and getting bent and wedged in the power roof and not letting me close it so i thought i would just order one or get one from the dealer if nescarry, ripped it out, and now i find the dealer discontinued it, and they gave me a number to call for a place that usually carries the discontinued stuff, they didn't have it, finally found it online, ordered it just to get an email the next day saying they canceled the order because of the discontuation, why have it on there then? so now i'm screwed unless someone has an idea. this isn't a part i believe you can get at the yard without destroying it. anybopdy have ideas?
DUDE! I just bought on of those gaskets from the dealer not even a month ago. Let me go get the part number. ok pn# 12392898. I don't remember how many were available, but I do know there were several left over in Philly. If you want one, get a price from the dealer and I will beat it guaranteed.
We are talking about the gasket that is on the glass, kind of a felt or velvet material for the surface where it meets the paint, right?
pm me if you need one.
Ryan post that part # on w-body.com
jeremy and robby need it to :)
I don't know for sure if that is the number for any other car besides the 89-90 TGP but it's worth a try.
they need it for STE's so i dunno :?
they had the # posted in the thread anyway I just checked it out..
as long as it is the same ASC roof it should be the same #. it may be disco, but there is still stock from GM.
ok :D
yes it's the part the goes around the glass and meets the paint. the dealership called it a roof vent window finish lace and gave me the following part#'s 12397735 and 12397736
wrong. if you are looking for the sealing strip the pn# is above. I'll get you one for $70 shipped. List is $92.
wonder what the finish lace is that they gave me the part# for, just curious to what it is?
finish lace I *believe* is the piece that goes around the headliner trim. go back to the dealer, have them show you the pic they are looking at. Look at the glass piece. You will see an elbow piece near the glass, that is the sealing strip. It doesn't show the entire piece, just a portion of it. part number is 12392898. you can trust me, either the people you talked with are confused, or they don't know their asses from the elbows. :joke:
