How do i launch my car to get the fastest 0-100 or what ever as possible. You cant just floor it, the thing just spins the tires like crazy all the way through first and some of 2nd. And brake torquing definatly doesnt help. Do you guys just half gas it really fast then slow lay into it?
Get better tires. But then with better tires you end up putting more strain in the tranny. Then you will have a $2200 bill instead of a few bills for a cross-over! :icon_wink: :icon_cool:
Launching varies significantly from car to car. The best advice I can give you is to just practice a bit to get a feel for the maximum amount of gas you can give from a stop and then slowly roll into the gas after that. It takes a bit of practice, but you can learn how to launch your car fairly easily if you just go out on some backroads and practice for a little while.

Ding Ding Ding!!!!!
Some cars just spin the tires like crazy if you just got WOT and others, like me, don't have a prayer in the world of spinning the tires off the line.
So just get bored and go do it, just be careful and let the trans cool down so you don't fry the trans while screwing around. ;)
You will just have to learn feather the throttle like Shawn said. Just be gentle with the right foot.
I dont see how spinning the tires with better tread will fry the tranny. frying the tires with a bad motor mount, sloppy front end/blown struts and old tranny fluid/no valence, and you can kiss the tranny goodbye.
sudden extreme force on the trans isnt good for it, bad tread supplements because the tires just slip under the heavy torque.
more traction = more strain on the driveline. if my car actually hooked up in 1st gear my 282 would proabably be dead by now.
yea i guessing my cars making close to 270 ft lbs of torque and not spinning in first would make short work of the 4T60...

so spinning the tires will save the tranny?

To a certain extent, yes it will. It has less stress on it because there is less resistance against it since the tires are spinning instead of gripping.
