Title: WTB:: instrument cluster
Post by: one_fast_prix on March 23, 2006, 12:26:24 PM
i'm looking for either the whole instrument cluster, or just the odometer/trip odometer, mine quit working and somewhere out there i suppose someone fixes these, but i have no clue where to look.  and i heard the dealer charges something like $250, not worth it.

Take no chances on this one :icon_biggrin:

He has another, tell him I sent you :icon_cool:

That amount to buy it is less than the last few quotes I have gotten and heard of to send out and fix our used cluster!  Having an odo that shows zero miles reminds me of when I once bought a brand new TGP, those were the days :icon_lol:

I sent him a PM because I am putting the one I just bought from Skalor in tonight and the other will just sit on my shop shelf collecting dust. It would be a perfect parts cluster for him if he wanted...assuming you can pull the odometer motor and gear set out and put it in another cluster... :icon_confused:

Ahh, a good home :icon_biggrin: your are welcome ;) Yes the odo motor comes out very easy and can be moved no problem :icon_cool:

OK so on the the whole pulling the motor and fixing the odo part here...what exactly makes them go bad?  And, what exactly makes them off 5 or 10 or 15 MPH?  The HUD is, from what I have read, usually always dead on but the speedometer and odo seem to crack after a while and either stop working OR fall behind.  Are you telling me that this is one thing we just CANT fix?????

No you can get it fixed, but a electronics shop can do it for close to 200$

I wonder if it's circuit related or cable related or a mix of both.  I think I'll try to find one in the jy and see if I can fix it  :icon_neutral:
