Title: HONEST SELLER/BUYER LIST
Post by: TGPilot on March 24, 2006, 09:30:30 AM
Ok...so many times we see parts for sale or a want to buy and wonder if things will turn out right because you do not know the person you are dealing with. I am starting this thread to have a running open forum on who is and who is not someone (new or veteran people) on the forum you want to deal with.

THERE WILL BE NO FLAMING A PERSON. If there is a specific problem you had with a person that they took your money and ran or the parts they sold to you were NOT what was described and they told you tough titties...then say something. That person will have the right to write a retort to your statement but there will be NO ARGUING/FLAMING!

Just like ebay gentlemen...short and sweet!

I will prune the thread now and again to get rid of the off topic banter...but a running list will be present.

Have fun and BE NICE! ;) :icon_cool:

Personally I have not had issue with anyone on here buying from them.

People I have bought from and had great success.... :icon_biggrin:

If I left anyone out please remind me of what I bought from you...my memory is nothing what it used to be 3 years ago!! :icon_redface:

I have also had a very good experience with Skalor. And SantaCruzTGP. There are a few other I have dealt with, but I dont remember who they are.

I have only had one bad experience, and that was from Davis? (lives in canada, havent seen him around in awhile) I bought A bunch of TGP parts from him, and there were problems. Radiator, Condensor core to be specific.

EDIT = Would I buy from Davis (Invasion1) again? Yes I would. As mentioned above, I had a bad experience, and I also dont blame Davis for this. It as partly my fault, as well as his. Me for not doing my research befor I bought the items from him. So this is not me badmouthing him, or anything of the sort, its just saying I had a singular bad experience that is not entirely the sellers fault. If this were ebay, I would have given him a nuetral, and not a negative or a positive.

I havent sold anything here, so I cant report as to the people that have bought things from me.

Suprising, Davis is one of our Mods (invasion1).  He has sold a lot of stuff on here an I have never heard of a complaint. I only had one dealing with him and it went smooth except for customs.

Brian i sent you pics of everything before i received any money from you, i SAID plain and SIMPLE the rad was 15 years old and needed repairs as in a Recore. and you saw pics of it. you complained after that it was not repairable and i said if you send it back to me i can have the company here who did my (which was worse than that one condition wise) recore and R&R the Rad and you pay them and i will send it back...

i never heard from you after that, except for your usual bitching every so often in other posts pertaining to rads and cooling issues.

as for the condenser, this the the FIRST time i have heard anything about that!!!! again you saw pics, knew it was 15 years old before you set the money.

End of story/defence

People i CAN reccomend for sellers and buyers:

Josh (Turbosedan)
Kenny (TGPilot)
Jud (Sleeperred90tgp)
Jeff M
Jay (God10)
Tony (GutlassSupreme)
Jon (90TGP)
Luke (LukeZ34)
Kyle (bake82)
Herb (Herb427)
Dave (Gearhead43)
No1kicker
IdBeast
RareGMFan
gp90se
MANY OTHERS ON W-BODY.COM Also

People To Avoid:

Brian (pontiac6ksteawd) Reason: Before Dealing with ensure he knows 110% exactally what he is getting otherwise there will be issues.

Rick Young (Rick Young) Reason: Provided Pictures and full info on a brand new 160 amp ALT. i sold him and he doesn't have the mechanical ability to install it himself and contacted paypal to have his money given back. i accepted the item back and eventually after providing my side and all the emails and PM communications to paypal. PAYPAL rules in MY favour but i refunded his money regardless cause i was sent the part back and actually installed it on my 1993 Cutass Conv. with no issues.

those would be 2 out of over 300 DEALS I have made on the Forums that went sour.

Well in true form I would never put someone in a Moderator/Admin position that I thought ws shadey. Honestly I have been friends with Dave (Invasion1) for a few years now and have never had an issue with his morals or dealings. Even if he is a Canadian! ;)

Anyway...let's move on folks and get more people up here you have good or even bad dealings with!

I have been friends with Dave(invasion1) for a few years now.  He's always given me great advice and from the few products he's sold to me, everything has been as described and came with quick shipping.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy or to recommend somebody to buy parts off him.

I have dealt with Kenny (TGPilot) long ago for the PAC interface for the steering wheel controls.  Have bought from the artist formerly known as Davis (Invasion1) and had no issues.  Dave helped me organize a group purchase for Intrax springs, and took over the heat when we were dealing with the Birchmount real leaf buy.  Good guy to boot, would buy again no doubt.  Jeff M is a great person to deal with, very helpful even when you aren't going to pay him.   ;)

If I left anyone out I apologize.   :icon_biggrin:

First I have ever heard of pictures on anything I bought from Invasion1, cause I never got a one, I bought them on face value. Also, First I have ever heard of you accepting it back for your shop to R&R it. If you remember, I told you in a PM, I should have asked for pics befor I bought them from you. This was my fault on that part for not asking for pics. Your actually right about the condensor core. Because I didnt try install it till late last year. At which time, since you cut the lines off, made it for a imposible install.

Secondly,

i've bought/sold a few things from Dave (Invasion1) and have never once had a problem.  i would definately buy from him again.  btw Dave the shifter cables arrived today, i gotta pick them up at the PO tomarrow morning  :icon_biggrin:

other members i have had good dealings with:

- TGPilot (just got the EEPROM'd memcal tonight Kenny  :icon_biggrin: )
- RedZMonte
- RareGMFan
- LukeZ34

i'm sure there are others but i'm tired and can't think :icon_redface:

i guess my only complaint would be with god910.  traded him a bunch of TGP engine parts and was supposed to get a primary fan pigtail and an EEPROM'd memcal from him about a year ago.  never did get the pigtail and instead of a memcal with an EEPROM i got a memcal that still had the stock EPROM.  oh well no big deal, Jay's a good guy and i'd buy from him again regardless.  could still use that stuff though.

thanks Josh

Lemme know if they were the right end on the shifter side....and will work with the shifter you have.

its from a 1990 CS so they should be the same.....if not for any reason lemme know and i can send the shifter that matched those exact cables or send them back to me.

anyway lemme know regardless cause i just removed my shifter boot on my 1992 CS and for some reason it looked different...I do have a 1989 GP shifter and cables in my CS so i dunno.

Shoot, I've bought and sold many things over the past 12 years, and never gotten anything that was in "less then described condition"
Jeff M, Invasion1, Chris A are 3 people that I've bought much stuff from.  Heck I've bought 4 TGP's from board people and been happy with all of them, and still have them all :icon_eek: :icon_wink: :bonk: :smilielol:

Shit Josh, I thought I sent you the pigtail out with the chip?  Whoops, my bad.  Also, I have a Motes G1 adapter with ZIF I can send.  I don't have any use for it anymore.  Then you won't need the EEMPROM'd MEMCAL, you can just use that.  (Or I can fix up a stock MEMCAL with the EEPROM, either way is no biggie.)  Did you need a primary fan or sec. fan connector?  I'll probably need your addy again. hahahaha

chalk up another bad experience with Brian (pontiac6ksteawd).  he wanted to buy my intercooler pipes/flex hoses/couplers & intercooler.  i provided him with nice pics of everything, get it all packaged up and head across town to UPS to get a shipping quote for him and then get this reply:

Quote from: pontiac6ksteawd on October 21, 2006, 06:34:37 PM
That works, but can you give me 2 weeks till pay day. Mainly after the intercooler, since mine is now cracked... The couplers are because I want to get mine powder coated over the winter (assuming the wife doesnt wreck the car again).

so i figured fine :icon_rolleyes: i'll wait two weeks (it's actually been 3 weeks as of today).  well three weeks have gone by and now he simply won't respond to my PMs.

bottom line - DON'T deal with Brian unless you like having people waste your time! :icon_evil:  apparantly he's all talk no money.

on a side note TGP Nick is a greak buyer... he bought a PMIII unit from me and i sent it out canada post... they sent it back due to "incorrect paperwork'' and "non-sifficient descibition"

so i se sent it and now canada post says they never lost the package but the location is unknown at this time .... i feel really bad as it taken a while.... i will no longer ship via canada post for iternational shipping though

Now that the posting that mr TurboSedan is way off base and COMPLETELY wrong. I will start with a quote

Quote from: TurboSedan on October 21, 2006, 06:38:59 PM
sure i'll hold onto them for you.
Quote from: TurboSedan on October 23, 2006, 02:51:20 PM
hey i'd love to hold them for you but i'm in DESPERATE need of money right now so i'm going to have to post that they are still available.  sorry man.

That tells me he is no longer holding them. And also blows his 3 week theory out the window. Also another quote..

Quote from: TurboSedan on November 07, 2006, 02:45:57 PM
hi Brian, i still have one intercooler left and the intercooler pipes/flex hoses/couplers are still available.

were you still interested in these?  fwiw, i will be heading through the St.Louis area later this month which would mean no shipping costs for you of course.  if you wanted to do it that way, you could just paypal me $55 and i could drop them off on the way through.

let me know.  i'm planning on passing through St. Louis on or about the 21st of this month.

This is where the COD came in since he would be in my area of town passing thru. There was NO BS, and I was being completely honest about using the mexican WI-FI since someone did get into my bank account, fortunetly I was able to stop that. But that is neither here or there or relevant to this conversation. If he wants my money for the pipes and shit which I do have full intention of buying (now that I am back in the states) he better clarify this shit, and get his story straight instead of flaming with lies.

Edit: I guess nevermind about fully intending to buy them since he already sold everything. But the post is still very valid.

your posts in this thread implied you had the money to buy them in a reasonable amount of time (i was assuming like within 3-4 days like an online forum business deal usually goes down) but here you come back saying "oh can you wait 2 weeks until my payday?" :icon_rolleyes:  that's pretty lame.  due to me moving i had to change my plans, IOW, the 1st person with the cash gets them (and got them).  don't blame me for not holding them for you.  asking someone to wait until they get paid after they imply they want to buy the parts is pretty lame IMO.  i was going to hold them for you but my plans changed (due to me moving so soon) so that's my reason for changing my mind about holding them for you.  IMO that's a pretty valid reason.

oh, how convenient, you deleted the date of my reply in that quote.  very sneaky you are.  this reply was made to you after the two weeks went by and i assumed you had gotten paid by then.  IOW, they were still available at the time you said you'd be able to pay for them.  then another week goes by and still no reply....

you never once told me you went to Mexico until after i posted this bad feedback here.  as far as i knew you were waiting 2 weeks for payday?  i guess that wasn't really the case huh?  regardless, the parts didn't sell in those 2 weeks so i PM'd you back to see if you were still interested.  another week goes by and NO reply (obviously you were still in Mexico :icon_rolleyes: ).  i don't see how you can blame me for selling them to someone else because after 3 weeks of not hearing from you i just assumed you were "window shopping" or no longer interested in buying them.

yes, the parts are sold and NO i will not be selling anything to you after this fiasco AND i would suggest other members do the same.  that's not me flaming you, it's simply a warning to other members who don't want to screw around with "buyers" like you.

How convienient my ass. I can clearly see a date in my posting which was made 30 mins about befor your post. Its there, guess you didnt see it, or the forum didnt quote it right. You waited 2 days to tell me you no longer were going to hold them for me. Now to a normal person that would mean you are, well, no longer holding them for me. I also never asked you again to hold them again. So where are you trying to go with this? Also, why would I have any further contact with you about anything since you were no longer holding them for me? And since it was 2 days, that does completely blow your 3 week bullshit theory right out the window. Then you contacted me about the "second chance" offer. I told you what I had going, and then you fly off the handle (seems to be alot of that around here lately). Instead of being the mature person and saying, "No man, I rather have the money up front, instead of me dragging these parts across the country" I would have completely understood that, hence why I said, if that doesnt work, I will see what I can do. ***checks my messages*** yea that is what I said. What the fuck else do you want? In either case, you think you are right, and I think I know I am right. We will just have to agree to disagree since I was using the facts that you posted to me in a PM, and you are just requoteing me and trying to twist the words to your favor.

Any rate I am back from Costa Maya, and Cozumel sitting in a hotel in New Orleans, catching a flight for St Louis in the morning. I am done with you, and this thread for the moment. Dont worry about me trying to buy from you. After this lieing fiasco, I am not going back. Amazing at all the other parts I have bought from forum members (here and other board) and have not had a problem with. Hell I even sold so parts lately, and everyone was satisfied with the condition of the parts. I will admit I was long in shipping, but I kept each buyer informed to the delays, and even took the blame for some of them. Live and learn

Will not buy from Maddux 31 or even attempt to buy from him.  I PM'd him about his Jeff M Crossover and he said he would do $135 shipped.  I asked if he could do $110 shipped.  He said he would check on shipping prices to see if he could.  I msg'd him again on Saturday and he said that the pipe was sold and that it had went for nearly $200.  A far cry from the $135 he wanted for it from me.  We had talked about how I was going to pay him for the cross-over.  I was fully expecting him to either that he needed $135 shipped, or that he could do $110.  I expect better from a seller that they should stick to their original asking price and NOT SELL A PRODUCT to ANOTHER MEMBER WHEN A DEAL HAD BEEN MADE.

I know $$ talks, but I was more than willing to send him payment immediately once he had given me an amount he needed.

4 days.  He said on wed that he would check on shipping prices and get back to me by Saturday.  On Sunday I sent him a PM asking him what was up and he said it was sold. All I was waiting on for was a total price.  I was willing and have the $$ to pay the $135 shipped he asked if he came back to me and said he needed that, but he never got back to me and sold it.

I was good for it, and feel he sold it from under me.  If I was him, I would have said, sale pending. and wouldn't have even entertained any kind of offer.  To me, if a person has dibs, the person has dibs, especially when you've talked about $$ and how payment is to be made.  See if it works out, and if it doesn't, it doesn't, THEN go to the other people.  IMO  I got screwed because the guy sold it from under me.  That's why I made the posts I did.  Not trying to stir anything, just stating how I feel.  I wouldn't have done what he did.

NEUTRAL RATING!!!!!!!!!! for Bake82-----------If you want to buy something then you should pay the asking price.  I told Bake82 that I had $500 (Jeff pipe with ceramic coating-3 years old and like new) in the crossover and wanted $135 shipped.  He countered with a lowball offer of $110 SHIPPED----TO CANADA!!!!   I told him I would see what I could do.  Shipping $22.50/crossover $87.50---????  In the mean time (3 days) I received offers of $300 + shipping for the crossover and turbo and an offer of $200 + shipping for the crossover alone.   So you tell me how I "backed out of a deal".   If you would have sent a money order as I requested ($135 US funds) then you would not be crying now.   And you're welcome for the neutral rating.  Moderators, please leave this alone as I just stated the facts without any harmful comments or language.  Thanks, Dale Malcolm.

The member formerly known as GangstGP--great buyer and good communicator.  Sold crossover to him for the amount I requested--powermaster sale pending payment.  Not a lowballer.  I appreciate people that do not haggle with you like you are at a flea market, swap meet or gun show.   Thanks Rick, I will have to put some momento in the V-8 Datsun 280z to honor these parts and their contribution to the project.  Dale Malcolm.

If it was a "low ball" and you were insulted by that then tell the person NO DEAL and move on

Communication is a key thing

Not to argue, but how does "lowballing" an offer=neautral rating.  I don't see what's wrong with asking for a lower price.  I asked if you could do $110 shipped.  You never replied.  If you would have told me it was $22 to ship, hell I would have even paid $135 + shipping.  Whatever.  But I've been offered lower than what I'm asking on parts before and NEVER ever considered that person to be a bad person to deal with.  They're just trying to get the product for less.

Give me a break I'm "lucky I got a neutral rating"

you = bad communication=bad seller (IN MY BOOKS)

But saying that, you've had lots of good transactions so obviously you're doing something right.

ENOUGH of the "lowballer" comments! If someone offers you a number much less than you are willing to take tell them...NO WAY...but do not crowd the thread with these lowballer bullshit comments! :icon_evil:

OK, I told Bake 82 that I had a better offer and sold the crossover, is that not what I should have done.  I work a full time job 60+ hours a week, sometimes I don't have time to read and respond to emails/messages every day.  When I knew that his offer was not enough , he was made aware of it so don't start in on me about letting the person know, Thomas Waltman accepted that I did not want to sell this part for the amount he offered and he just said OK.  I did not respond to his offer in the same day either IIRC.  My balls do not need to be broken because this guy is crying bad deal, I will end the lowballer comments but I guarantee you that the only bullshit here is BAKE 82's perception of what went on in that transaction.  If I gave all the people on here negative feedback that have said "OK, that sounds good, I'll take it" and then no payment, I would really be crowding this thread.  But instead I just accept the fact that maybe they forgot, don't have the money, young and very talkative, etc.  Move on and get over it is the best thing to do so I'll end my speech.........no more on this subject from me.  Thanks for all the + feedback,  Dale Malcolm.

Sorry but I know about lowballers and especially the "I'll take it and no response" people! I just don't want others to start crowding the thread with the lowballers or no response people. So sorry for jumping your shit on that...I just don't want to see a bunch of new threads talking about people being lowballers or no response people. This 4 page thread would turn into a 20 pager overnight! ;)

Click on someone's username and then the "Submit feedback" link in their profile to post feedback. Under everyones avatar is where the trade count info is diplayed, you can click on it to read what people have left for each member.

Oh ya you needed the 9004 sets, i had the 9005/9006. Are the 9004's brighter? Do they both come on like quad headlights like a highbeam?
Title: Re: HONEST SELLER/BUYER LIST
Post by: pontiac6ksteawd on February 27, 2009, 03:18:26 PM
The 9004 is setup so that if a low beam, or a high beam bulb blows, that you swap the bulb over from its counterpart in the same headlight assembly. Pretty nifty idea really. But no, the quad lights dont come on, thats a thing that has to be done in the relays, and my wife doesnt want it, and since its her car, she gets what she wants.... As long as she quits wrecking my cars!!!

Guys, I am going to start selling quite a bit of stuff on here as I have a parts car. Most will be in the spring, but I am going to start now with a few things. Please feel free to check my ebay sellers account manifoldsrme. I have almost 700 positive feedbacks. I only sell nice stuff to avoid any problems and if there are any issues I will gladly make it right. I am not trying to make a living on parts, just help others out who need stuff. Please check out my ebay account to feel comfortable with purchasing anything from me that I may list on here. Thanks guys. Brian
