I need a VSS from a 5-speed 282. I think I will need one from a tranny that was bolted to a 2.8/3.1. My 5-speed was out of a '89 GP with a 2.8...but I think the FD ratio was the same for 2.8/3.1 but I am not sure.
Or if someone knows what VSS sensors are interchangeable...or if there is a gear on the end that I just need to swap from my tranny. I do not remember what it looked like when I did the swap so long ago.

as far as i know all V6 282s had the same 3.61 FDR. i've compared the VSS from '88, '89, and '90 W-body 282s and they were all the same. i even swapped the VSS out and had no speedometer change. IIRC they even had the same numbers on them. i think i have two of them in my garage if you need one. they don't have a gear at all it's just a big magnet. btw, i haven't sent that memcal yet :icon_redface: i could send a VSS along with it but i'm not sure if the magnet would mess up the memcal?
The magnet will not mess up the MEMCal EPROM. If it was an EEprom I might be leary...but it does not matter anyway...it will get a 29C256 chip anyway.
What is your PayPal? What do you think is fair for the MEMCal and the VSS?
I do need this soon so I do not mind paying for them or at least the shipping and hassle cost. ;) :icon_cool:
