Just curious: Is anyone else in here from Minnesota, or nearby? I was just reading something about how MN prolly has the most TGP's per capita lol...so anyone else here? Where from?
Krenzy
Little Falls, MN
Mitch
Awesome...I'm from New Ulm. How's Little Falls for ya?
boring, like always
I'l probably move to Brainerd next year for school. Not that thats much better
Where's new Ulm?
Little Falls is in Central MN
Mitch
Brainard's awesome...going there this year for the CW county fair. New Ulm is about 30 miles from Mankato...bout 2 hours or so from the Twin Cities.
I'm going to Central Lakes College in Brainerd and I'm sick of driving 30 miles one way to get there, plus I'm ready to move out. Getting a roomate so we can split the bills.
No else here is from MN?
Mitch
I'm getting into the same boat...moving out, but looking for a roommate...and all the people that kinda would work as a roommate happen to be **drum roll** girls...and my girlfriend has something to say about that lol. How big of a campus is Central Lakes?

I can imagine, mine would too :icon_lol: but I'm probably going to be moving in with a good guy friend of mine from school.
CLC isn't very big, its just a community/Technical College, just a ball park guess is probably 2000-3000 Students.
North Branch, Minnesota
Where's North Branch located in MN?
And Welcome to the Forum :icon_cool:
Mitch
North Branch is about 45 minutes north of the Twin Cities. It is in east central minnesota. Also about 30 miles away from the minnesota/wisconsin border. LOL sorry for the delayed response (three months!!!) :leaving: :bonk:
Blame it on turbo lag lol

Sweet, I've been down there once or twice
brrrr...I don't want winter to come yet, but its already getting cold
I know! The last couple of days have only been in the high 50's/low 60's! It's getting cold! :icon_evil: It's supposedly going to get into the 70's the rest of the week and maybe low 80's this weekend. (crossing my fingers) I hate winter, yet I live in MN- go figure
Ahh the sign of a TRUE Minnesotan. We ALL hate it lol!
Well, here's my little sit-u-ma-tation lol....the radiator is being replaced by (hopefully) an OEM replacement for the turbo gp...if not, I'm gonna have them recore it. There's a post in my Rolling Learning Thread about what happened. But yeah I definately saw your Seafoam post and I'm gonna try it when I get her back. I just tried it with my Camaro, cuz my '93 V6 Camaro started acting up...Loss of power, cat checks out clean, and when I maintain about 1500 rpms it starts to shakes...no clue what happened, it just literally was driving fine and then started doing it. Well, once I get it fixed I may be trading that car off for another Prix....'93 SE with a 3.4 DOHC...new timing belt, water pump, plugs, wires, brake lines, brakes, injectors...pretty much a new car lol. But like I was saying, I wanna fix it first, for two reasons: 1) I refuse to seel a car with a problem, and 2) I'm not gonna screw over a friend. I guess this is an open request for suggestions as how to fix that car too lol....I'm thinking I'm gonna have the injectors blown out/pulsed out...whatever they called it. There's a small whine too whenever I give her gas...
But enough about the Camaro. I just want a good running car before this gorgeous weather flies south for the winter lol. How bout you? How's your TGP treating you now? Still runs good I hope. I'm gonna try the Seafoam when I get her back.
Welp, time for some shut eye. Nice thunderstorm outside to help me sleep.
Well hopefully you can get your situations (with both cars) solved. ;) I would definitely do the Seafoam on both cars. I thought for sure that my TGP had a bad injector (or two) :icon_eek: because it would stumble HORRIBLY, could not keep a steady RPM at stoplights, and started really hard. The TGP is treating me really well now; :icon_cool: all of those problems are gone now but the crossover related weak spot at 4,000 RPM is still there, I am just waiting for my Jeff M. crossover, TG 160 chip, 160 t-stat, crankcase breather, K&N filter, and new O2 sensor. Before winter gets underway here, I'm planning on doing my plugs, wires, oil pump drive seal, the parts above, and clean/replace my sensors while I have money. :icon_mrgreen: I definitely hear ya on not screwing a person over with a faulty car. I wish more people were like that and actually gave a damn. :icon_evil: Does the SE u might buy have the GTP body kit or the SE kit? I like first gen GP's; I think they are the best looking (88-90 look great, 91-93 are cool, too). If seafoam doesn't work on your Camaro, get your injectors electrosonically cleaned. That is the BEST way to have them cleaned and they give you a printout of how the injectors perform (before service and after service). Here is a place that does the electrosonic cleaning. http://www.witchhunter.com/ Hope this helps! ;) Good luck :icon_cool:
Not a Whole Lot going on here. Just School...And Work...And An Occasional Glance at my poor TGP. :icon_cry:
Hey it has the B4U kit on it...what was the difference between the GTP kit and the SE kit?
B4U- SWEET! B4U is very similar to the TGP body kit (B4U below)
and this is an SE (still cool, but I prefer B4U ;))
Hopefully mfewtrail won't mind me using his photo :icon_redface:
Definately B4U...don't get me wrong the SE one is nice in it's own respects, but I'd never drive a Prix that didn't have the B4U kit...and only the 89-93 B4U...not a fan at all of the 94-96 one. But yeah it has the B4U kit...LOVE IT!
I agree. I love the B4U kit and the TGP B4? kit looks even better. :icon_cool: (I'm not a fan of the mini-quads). My favorites are definitely 88-93 also. ;) 94 to 96 meh :icon_confused: they're okay, 97-03 yuck :puke: Nice find on the B4U GP though! :thumb: What color is it? U should post a pic or two if you get a chance

I don't mind, use any pictures you want from there. ;) I'll admit I like the B4U better, but my '93 will rock the BYP kit for life. :icon_biggrin:
I have a couple shots, but my camera is kinda crappy and it was under our "mall" at 2 a.m., so the quality is kinda meh. But I'll post 'em anyways. Better pictures when I see the car next.

And...for giggles, here's a bad picture of my Camaro's new paint job :icon_biggrin:...better pictures if anyone wants.
So yeah, there's the best pics I have of the Prix so far...not bad at all, just small oxidization on the back bumper...not bad at all
That GP is in nice shape! Nice find! ;) Missing the valence, though. :icon_frown:
Yeah, I was a little disappointed there, too, with the valance being gone, but atleast my TGP has it on, right? Lol, I'll prolly just go make a midnight run to the junk yard and find one there,,,they have everything but won't let anyone go back to see it...so you have to let yourself in, in a matter of speaking.
Yeah, at least the TGP has it. That is most important. :icon_mrgreen: LOL yeah I see what ya mean.

Our Junkyard is gay like that too now that its under new ownership, (who buys a junkyard anyway?), I remember the old days where they'd let you practically walk away with the part as long as you pulled it.
I know! I keep hearing talk about these two muscle car junkyards in Minnesota that have practically nothing BUT musclecars, and all you do is pay 200 bucks for whatever you can fit into a trailer. Where'd those good guys go?
My junkyard is like that, too. The first time I went there they let me look around as much as I want, then the second time I went, they said I have to come and talk to the person at the front desk before I go anywhere else or "They'll have to kick us out" :icon_frown: ( I was with a friend). I pulled a valence off a 93 GP today that is in CHERRY shape! The thing took an hour to take off, :icon_eek: but in the end, it was worth it. I got a really nice valence (although it is white) for $20, so I am happy. :icon_cool:
Does anybody here know whether or not that you HAVE to have a front license plate on our cars here in MN?
If I run into him tonight, I'll ask Myron, the best "cop" there is. He's almost NOT a cop cuz he's so cool. One of the local sheriff's literally MADE me put one on my Camaro after I had been pulled over 4 times for having it in my windshield. I haven't been pulled over once for driving with it in the windshield of my TPG. I'll try and find out though.
Cool ;) let me know! I'm sick of front plates! :icon_mad:
No, but he hasn't been in the office when I've been available. I called his house and asked his wife when he worked and he works from 2 till 10...almost exactly when I'm working. I tried pulling a cop over to ask, but it's harder than you think lol. I'll prolly get pulled over tonight on my way to South Dakota, so I'll ask then lol. Sorry, but I'll keep trying.
Thanks anyway. Let me know when ya do find out. ;)
I haven't had one on my car for two years, never got pulled over for it, but once I got pulled over for speeding and he said I needed to have one although he never gave me a fix-it ticket. So I never put one on. Haven't had any problems.
I was really bored today and mascara'ed my TGP today. Check it out, looks pretty sweet! :icon_cool: http://www.tgpforums.com/index.php?topic=3575.0
Dude! Thats Incredible! Someday My car will look like that, after some bodywork and A good paint job
Sorry it's taken me so long to post this....alot going on, and I'll psot more about that later on, but I did ask two cops the other night about the liscence plate on the front. They said that in Minnesota you need to have a front plate on the car, UNLESS it is a collector car WITH collector plates...which you can only apply for if your vehicle is 20 years old; the downfall that collector plates is your car is not allowed to be a daily driver or go to school, work, or to pick up groceries. It is meant for cruising to collector meets and auto shows they said.
So, short answer: we need a plate mounted externally on the front, but I'm still not going to do it until they tell me to...and even then I think I'm just gonna zip tie it to the grille lol. Again sorry for the delay, but I'll explain the delay later on.
Thanks, guys! Hey Grinders, I posted a suggestion for ya in your rolling thread. ;)

What happened?
There's a bunch of info on it in the Grinders 18 Rolling TGP thread in the Problems and Solutions section...95% of my time and money have gone itno getting that thing running...argh...lol.
Guys- we should all get together sometime when it is warm out and have a meet. That would be awesome- a MN TGP meet.
Totally 100000% agree! Let's start arranging it. Any preference to dates and location?
Preferably, sometime when it is warm
For location, I was thinkin somewhere north of the cities by me, because I am almost exactly halfway in between New Ulm for you and Little Falls for Dark Ride.
Here's a map I sketched on. I'm thinkin somewhere north of the metro off of 35, but south of the metro wouldn't bother me. What do u think?
Warmer the better lol...how about sometime during the 4th of July week. I have that entire week off and wouldn't mind the trip. Not too far either. Anyone else care to jump in on this?
I'm Definetly In :icon_biggrin:
Friday the 6th? Saturday the 7th? I'm up for most days that week except for the 3rd and the 4th (4th is my Mom's birthday and we're throwing her a party). Lots of July birthdays lol...mines on the 18th of July. Usually nice and warm, usually good weather, and it should give me plenty of time to take out a huge ass loan to get my babe all fixed up and purdy! lol
Yeah- like Friday or the weekend- that would work great! That will give me some time to work on my TGP, too. :icon_cool: She needs a little powertrain work and a few miscellaneous things to get ironed out. We should set up a more "Definite" location, though. Know of any good places to go?
Truthfully, I don't know jack about the cities lol...I couldn't find the metrodome if you put me on it's doorstep. I go there like once every two or three years to pick someone up from the airport. Ummm.....I'll ask around and see if anyone knows of any good places....otherwise, anyone else have suggestions?
Yeah I know good places in southern MN, like a couple small towns near Rochester, but yeah I'm way up in North Branch and Dark Ride is even farther north :icon_eek:
What about St. Cloud, or Litchfield? I know Litchfield pretty decent, they have a nice drive in theater, 5 screens, two movies for 6 bucks lol. Or Hutchinson? I don't know St. Cloud as well as I'd like, but I've been there a few times.
I've never been to Litchfield. Been to St. Cloud though- a bit of a drive. Damn I wish I lived farther south, there is a ton to see down in southern mn.
No kidding...but there's a ton to see up north, too....Duluth....um....ummmmm...Oh! And Duluth! lol...sorry Duluth's a great town scenery-wise, and so is Stillwater. Middle of Minnesota kinda got the shaft for sites, but yeah there is alot in southern MN.....Litchfield is a small town, Hutch is nice, St. Cloud is big.....I'm open to suggestions for places to go, always up for a road trip.
We'll have to do some research to find a good place. It's not like we have to decide tonight; since we still have 8 months before the meet. ;) I've never been to Stillwater; maybe that would be a good place. I've heard that it is great scenery there though. :icon_cool:
Yeah it's awesome...I was there at the end of July for the Gin Blossoms/Sister Hazel Concert...which by the way kicked so much ass it makes Chuck Norris look like a pansy...but I have to tell you, I've never seen the St. Croix river and it was amazing. New drawbridge, and there was this little restaurant called Darla's, they serve REAL old fashioned food...old fashioned burgers, malts in the steel cups, REAL cherry cokes....best Bacon cheeseburger ever! A little pricey, but definately worth it! It was a nice drive, got lost once of twice, and we went during their Lumberjack Days festival...big crowd. All in all, I'd go back anytime! But like you said, we have 8 months! lol. Let's see who we can all get...heck, maybe some of our neighbors would care to jump the state line and visit too?
Stillwater sounds good to me. :icon_cool: We could go to more than one place, too.
Hey, we could even do a small meet this fall if we get a couple semi-warm days.
We could do some fall meets...hopefully we'll have another nice September/early October. Stillwater is great...there's a boardwalk along the river, extremely nice...and there's a giant hillside across the river that's extremely photogenic. We NEED a photoshoot with whoever brings their cars...this is for sure! My buddy wants to come with, even though he doesn't have a TGP...he wants one so bad, but he decided to just go out and buy a '03 Saleen Mustang. Oh well, he'll learn sooner or later that he just has to look lol. I kinda like the idea of maybe a weekend cruise...start in one place, go to another...what do you think?
That would be awesome! I was thinkin that we could maybe (if we get a couple more warmish days) do a small meet in the next couple weeks, but I doubt the weather will cooperate. :icon_rolleyes: Definite photoshoots!!!
Definately! Let me know when and where...usually weekends work better, work won't let me off without a months notice this time of year.
Yeah I hear ya! Ever been to Hinckley? They have some good food. I dunno I can't think of many places at the moment.
I can't say I've ever been to Hinckley...Heard it on the news does that count lol? J/k I hear Porky's has some good meets, but I hear it usually gets overrun by ricers lol.
I've never heard of Porkys either.
Porky's is up by MSU in either Minneapolis or St. Paul...on University...I know all about it but I've never been there lol. Supposedly lots of muscle car meets, but I guess it gets overrun by ricers.
Stupid ricers... lol. Um it would be kinda boring, but there is a lake/beach/park about 2 miles from my place. Nice scenery, but not a whole lot to do- great pictures :icon_cool:
Great picture places are never boring. They just help out the film rolls :icon_biggrin:
If we were at the lake early enough, we could get some pictures with the fog over the lake in the background- I drive by it every morning and I have always wanted to take some pictures of the TGP in the fog. -just an idea
Hey that sounds like a cool idea. What lake is it?
It's Fish Lake- one of many. I guess there are thousands of Fish Lakes in MN. what a state we live in
I don't know how many Rice Lakes and Clear Lakes I've counted lol...Land of ten thousand lakes with 100 different names!
LOL :bonk: You know you're a redneck when you have 10,000 lakes, of which there are 100 of the same names used over and over again. The Fish Lake by my place is pretty nice, though.
I kinda like that half the names of lakes are stating the obvious (Fish Lake, Clear Lake) while there's others you couldn't pronounce if you tried. I live right next to the Minnesota River and all her polluted beauty...my buddy's dad is a strong campaigner to keep this river clean and to get rid of all the crap in it.
Yeah the Fish Lake by me doesn't have much fish unless you go out into the middle of it where it is quite deep 50+ feet :icon_eek: . It is mostly a good swimming lake/beach in the summer that's about it.
Oh I wish I lived by a beach...beaches are fun. I love to fish...lol I realize those are really random thoughts lol.
Awesome! Gotta love Minnesota threads! lol...We clean house!
Yeah! whoo! :icon_cool:  :flamingdevil: :icon_twisted: I got a little carried away with the smilies lol
You guys need an instant messenger! ;)
lol didn't even think of that. we're just on here and doing pms
We're supporting the "Nick and Krenzy Cleaning House: Minnesota Style" kick! Lol!
LOL that's awesome
Didn't anyone ever tell them? It's a Minnesota thing! :icon_cool:
LOL they just think we're weird cuz they don't understand our ways :icon_rolleyes: :icon_lol:
Maybe they need some lakes of their own? lol we could share.......eh, nawwww lol

Wow this turned into such a random conversation.
We have more original material than Jeff Foxworthy lol...
YEAH! We rule the boards after the sun goes down!
That we do!
Anyone in MN or nearby states; we are organizing a couple meets. Post your questions and requests here!
Wow, this thread doubled since I last logged on
If we do a meet before next summer the TGP won't be coming :icon_cry:
It can't leave the driveway, much less town. :bash: Its going to be a long haul. But I'm definetly up for it. I know St. Cloud fairly well, so if we wanted to do that... Otherwise, we could definetly meet anywhere. Hopefully, I'll be getting a new and more reliable car (95GP :icon_biggrin:) soon. The LE is Getting Pretty close to Dead.
So far, we have been thinking Stillwater or something north of the Twin Cities. Whats going on with ur LE?
I just don't trust the LE anymore, it will just up and start missing and its getting old.
Wherever you guys want to meet is cool with me.
We'll definately let you know! I hope the LE starts to get better.
Yeah same here. I lost my 90 SE at the end of last summer. :icon_cry: God I miss her.
So far, one of the meets are looking like this:
July 7th weekend 2007 at Stillwater, MN
So, nothing real specific yet.
So I'm just checking to see if anyone else is wanting to join in? Still plenty of time, just gauging numbers.
Anybody have any other ideas for location? Plenty of time- meet isn't until July. ;)
BUMP this thread to see if we have any new MN members?
Oh god bringing this thread back are ya?
We gotta keep an eye out for our own kind lol
