Title: Sunroof & Trunk needed
Post by: cbrowne25 on September 20, 2002, 04:42:13 PM
I have a 1990 TGP and the darn thing doesn't have a sunroof.  I live in Traverse City, MI and go to College in Midland, MI.  Anyone nearby know where I can get a sunroof?  If so, where can I take it to get it installed, cause I don't have the slightest idea how to put it in.  Once again, I go to college...therefor I am poor.  Inexpensive suggestions only please.

I also need a Trunk with a spoiler.  (Black)  the previous owner had a problem with the paint on the trunk and decided to spraypaint over it.  Not to appealing to the eye.

Although sunroofs are a decent option, it would be costly to install the factory sunroof.  The TGP without a sunroof have one good advantage and that is they are lighter which means these are preferred for maximum performance. It has been weighed b4 but I would estimate the sunroof to weigh a good 75-100 lbs.  You could save the money and get the performance instead. 8)

Hi there  I have some knowledge in this dept. The sroof is made by ASC (American sunroof co) They supply many mfgrs out there. You can go to a jyard and find one as long as the glass sixe is the same. The frame assy is spot welded from underneath and there are  drain hoses in each corner (4) that will drain away any water that may collect in the top section. The headliner has to be totally removed and replaced. ASC is a very reliable co, however the cost at this point vs what the car is worth is a debateable project. My advice, save your money for future maintenance
expenses. Good luck, Rob
