Ran a 14.802 last night at the track. Finally broke into the 14's yea! Now time for my boost controller, next week ill see what that does for me. hopefully lower 14's. PSIOFF :D
What mods ya' running??
Don't get a boost controller. Read through this forum and there is a writup on why you don't want one.

Ok joe there ya go.....
He needs a boost controller for a specific reason. Same as the other guy who wanted one in here, to lower boost down some, not bump it up. There is a malfunction with the Wastegate Control Solenoid and there is no way to control boost.
Sorry, My bad.
Thanks Chris, anyways mods: chip, crossover, 2.5 pipe high flow cat, ploy dogbones, open filter.
you run at crofton?
Actually, an electronic boost control is one of the best mods he could make. But a manual boost control is very harsh on the tgp's engine. MBC's tend to spike the boost hard core on the TGP. I would pick up a GReddy Profec B or an Apexi AVC-R

I would like to agree with that also. Taking the tired TGP Wastegate control solenoid out of the mix would seem to be much more accurate. I just wonder if the ECM would panic with it not seeing a difference in boost control when it sends pulses out to the solenoid to tone down the boost? 8)
Nope, it doesn't care that it doesn't see the boost its trying to attain. That would be an interesting trouble flag though!
The WG sol being tired had nothing to do with that car. It really dumbfounded me as to what was wrong.
ECM wont care. I've ran a profec b on mine before with no issues. But, since Im selling it I took it out ad went back to stock..

it shouldn't spike much/almost any at all if the vacuum line to it is short as possible and you have a small hole(forget the size now..) drilled in it(the grainger valve)..that is if you're using a "g valve" I had one on my Volvo for a while and had it set to 14psi w/ the wastegate actuator rod turned down real which helps prevent spiking and didn't see any spiking according to my VDO boost gauge(I had the fuel/boost cut-out switch killed on it too  since it would cut out fuel when it saw 14psi) , although TGP wastegates aren't adjustable, right? I haven't gotten a chance to go over my fathers 90 TGP he just bought yet...but will check it out later, if it were mine, the tinkering would have already began 8)
i dont think that they are actually adjustable but mine has a shortend wastegate rod on it and is suppose to be making 11-12 psi of boost ...dont know for sure
