Ok here goes.. I have a 90 TGP. Heres the problem, It is not boosting in first gear.. the turbo kicks to just below midway and stays there in first.. Now if i get on it.. and i mean i have to mash it to the floor it will boost in all other gears.. but the boost and rpms surge... its like it pulsing.. very weird.. I know the exhaust is original.. I have had the since 93.. its been stored every winter. and the past three years I have driven it maybe ten times.. this summer it has been out more then ever.. there is a couple other things.. I had the tranny rebuilt about 6 years ago.. every since then my speedo is off way off.. like 25-30 low on the highway. i had it checked and the three places said it is in the tranny.. so if anyone has some ideas..

I wonder if there is a possibility your governor is slipping. The speedo signal is on the end of the governor, so maybe they're related? Its not hard to pop the governor out and take a look at it.
But didn't you say the HUD will be right?
The TGP has 3.33 gears which sounds unique to me. Maybe they rebuilt the tranny with generic standard Grand Prix gears, throwing off the spedometer?
To chris the hud and speedo are the same, way off... could the fact the tranny maybe wrongly rebuilt affect the turbo?not boosting in 1st gear.. or could the ecm be confused by the speedo thus causing my turbo problem.. I also noticed this weekend that the turbo some times will not boost in 2 or 3.. it just sits at the middle way or just below.. :x so if you guys have any more ideas.. I am looking into yours chris.. thanks..
