Title: TGP chip pump shot.
Post by: mars on June 08, 2006, 06:13:06 PM
This is for the pros...

Does anyone know if there's a specific table that controls the "pump shot" in the tgp chip...

I know in turbo setups, you want a rich "spurt" of fuel to spool the turbo.  I would like to get rid of this for my setup.

No matter what RPM I am at if I hammer the loud pedal, the mix goes down to 10:1 AFR, then a second later, gets back to the 13 - 13.5 I am shooting for.

Any ideas?  maybe it's supposed to do this, just thought I would ask.  I don't have a turbo on my car, just a centrifugal blower.

Merci.

Have you changed your "Power Enrichment Air Fuel Ratio" table? I do not have a WB02 hooked in yet...but I used to get a large puff of black. Almost like it was an old carb'd car and the accelerator pump was opening too much...if that makes sense to you. I changed my PE A/F ratio quite a bit and made a noticeable difference both while snapping the throttle open and LONG full boost pulls. Stock it will run from 12:1 all the way down to 10.2:1 Desired A/F in PE depending on RPM. Higher the RPM the higher the A/F.  :icon_cool:

Well to be honest, I am only using one table to tune, and it's working VERY well...

BUT, I have a S/C and my boost is "set", so at 3000 RPM I have 4 psi, and at 5000 I have 9 PSI and at 6000 I have 13, ect.  it's linear...

I only use the VE% vs RPM table, and as I said, so far it's miint.  Goes really rich over 5900 though, sometimes 10:1, but I'm getting dialed in now.

I just wanted to get rid of this pump shot deal...

Mars, try messing with the AE tables(accel enrichment).I think if you scale them down a lil it will help you  :icon_mrgreen:...Adam

0A97         AE FACTOR PERCENT VS BASE PALSE INJECTION <- Vs EGR?
                  60  80  A0  A0  60  50  40  34

I don't have a transition scale for this table but if you do some math im sure you'll find the %.  But just try triming this table.

I don't know if the XDF file has this table. I had to import it to my OLD Winbin file wich I lost.

Hmm, why is it that when I look at the tgp hack file it shows that address as

QuoteAE FACTOR % BPINJ
8A97  60 80 A0 A060 50 40 34

?

What's going on, which one's right ?

Yeah, I know, I know nothing about this stuff...

Thats the address. Its just mine has 0's in the addresses instead of 8s. IE.. 0b34 instead of 8b34.   And the names are a little different but are the same thing.

Holay crap, worked perfect.  no more bucking.

I can roll the throttle on SLOWLY (or quickly) @ 35 MPH in 5th and it'll just go nice.

I scaled the whole table by .75

I shall try .65 next see how that works.

My pump shot AFR is up to 10.5 from 9.4.  A tad more should fix it real nice.

Thanks!!
