I stopped by Taco Bell Saturday night and grabbed some munchies. This is also where everyone hangs out on the weekends. I was their for a few minutes when a couple friends from school came in [one of them owns a 92 300ZX TT Manual] and asked me if I knew who owned a yellow 240SX that was parked in the parking lot outside. I didn't know. Well, a whole pack of people got up and left, it was one of them.
The 240SX was yellow with some type of body kit, rims and a black rear aluminum wing. My friend in his 300ZX chased after them. I was in my TGP behind my friend in the 300ZX as we got onto the main road. He sped up to get next to the black Eclipse GST that was leading the 240. They got lined up at a light, but they didn't race for some reason. They did play with each other going further down the road. I was next to the yellow 240.
When we were side-by-side, the driver of the 240 kept speeding up and dropping back to pace me a few times. I thought he wanted to race. He had a cute g/f in the car with a very nice ass. :D
All of us got further down the road when a light turned yellow. The Eclipse and the 300ZX went through it. I thought I would have gotten a chane to line up with the 240 at the light, but he sped up and got on the bumper of the 240 and blew the light :( I was sad.
I talked to my friend later on that night, and he said that he overheard the driver of the GST and told me that the passanger in that car thought it wasn't a turbo but said it was a nice car anyway.
If it was a 240 is was most likely a KA24 under the hood, and they're really slow. Now, there could be a chance it was a SR20DET under the hood. It's a dohc 2.0 turbo motor that came in 240's in japan. If it's a SR20DET don't mess with it. The SR20DE is a much better motor that the motors that come in the 300zx TT any nissan guru will tell you that. My neighbor has a '91 Nissan NX2000 and a '91 Nissan Sentra SE-R and they are pretty damn fast and he plans on turbocharging one in the near future. I've seen a SR20DE make 419 hp at the wheels :shock: on only a basic rebuild with lower compression pistons. Be careful if it's a SR20DE and that's all I have to say.
There is only one SR20DET equipped 240SX in my area, and it's white. He is currently running 13s, hoping to get into the 12s. Most people in my area are ricers with little to no engine mods. The fastest imports in my area is a 11.5 second stock appearing [to the wheels] Supra turbo MKIV, a 400hp MKIII Supra, and a Red lastgen RX7.
