Title: new or used moters?
Post by: marcus18 on September 24, 2002, 05:29:17 AM
anybody know any online motor store? If I get this car I'll want to build a backup motor. would the 3.4L be better? I mean does jeff make a chip for it or would I be on my own? I'd like to build it up like jeorge is. experiment with stuff. any ideas?   3.1L 3.4L or is there another motor that will fit in it that would be better?

thanks people.

oh man good luck with a 3.4.  you might as well get a GTP.  and that motor is frankenstien anyway....wait till the alternator goes out, the oil drive o-ring, the timing belt....unless you are a mechanic i wouldn't touch the DOHC.  you would be better off turbocharging a common n/a 3.1 MPFI.  or just use a n/a 3.1 motor as back up.  just my  .03......

I think he means the 3.4 Pushrod motor, not the TwinCam.
