Welp.....if you've been following the saga (more on w-body than here), then you know why I'm parting with my cars. :icon_cry: Anyhow, just in case someone here is interested, I have began the listings with the rougher bodied AWD STE.
Auction listing here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=190021289967&ih=009&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT)
If you have any questions, let me know.
That one looks a bit rough...what does the other AWD look like? :icon_cool:
Well....while it's got peeling paint on the roof, and is starting to rust through in a couple of spots, it's in much better shape than this one. It has 98K some odd miles on it. However, the ABS is leaking on that one. When there is still fluid in there, the brakes actually function well/still charge and have power. I think air got into the lines from repeatidly letting the fluid get low, because it had 0 stopping power when I last used it. Had to pump the brakes a couple times to get the car to slow down at all. And while it was sitting there the last couple months, I noticed there was a puddle of fluid under it one day. I went to move it just a couple nights ago, and heard the steering moan when I turned it. I thought "oh, THAT'S what that fluid was." I'm pretty sure it's a power steering line. Other than that, there really isn't much mechanically wrong with that one, and cosmetically, it isn't too bad either. Nothing some very light body work and paint won't take care of. Still probably one of the nicest remaining ones out there. It will be hitting eBay in just a week or so.
**Waits for the turbo auctions**
Naperville is a few towns over from me I may wait to see the other one though.
If you live that close, you can always see them in person, too. I gotta tidy up the other AWD before it hits eBay. It will more than likely be listed next weekend
I wouldn't mind seeing the other in person.
Well.....I just got off the phone with the buyer. He'll be by early Saturday to pick it up, and wants to talk about the other one, too. Man....I already have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. And this is by far the LEAST favorite of my cars. I'm not even sure WHAT I'm feeling at this point. I guess "uneasy", for lack of a better term. That's only going to get worse from here on out, but it has to be done.
TurboBeretta - You're more than welcome to arrange a time to see it. As I said, the buyer of this one is interested in the other one, too, but I'm really not sure what I'm going to tell him (as far as price, selling it on the spot, etc). It needs to be cleaned, I gotta' pull the aftermarket wheels and warm air intake off, battery needs to be charged, etc. It's not ready to be sold, yet, so I very highly doubt anything will be hammered out Saturday for it.
I thought it would have sold for more than that. Sorry it didnt man. I even have a rebuilt ABS unit sitting in storage. Hopefully wont have to use it, but I know I will have to eventually.
Yeah, I was hoping for around $600 or so, but....oh well. It's over now. And as much as I hate getting rid of it, that's some huge weight off my shoulders. The guy just pulled away with it on his flatbed. Older guy, quite into cars (owns a tranny shop in WI), so at least it's in good hands. I loaded him up with some info on where to get the brakes redone, and a copy of the 6000 STE AWD GM Training kit. He told me to shoot him a price on the other AWD before I put it up on eBay, if I'm interested. We'll see. Haven't given price a whole lot of thought on that one, yet. So.....one down, 3 to go.
