Title: couple tuning questions
Post by: scott0999 on August 24, 2006, 06:29:52 PM
Hey everyone, this is my 1st post here.

I have a 94 Cavalier Z24 with a 3400/3.1 Hybrid Turbochaged

All the specs for the car are here:  http://www.v6z24.com/registry/scott0999

I'm running the TGP code modded for 30# injectors. BLMs are at 128 idle. I just got some WBO2 datalogs from a 1st-3rd gear pull

It seems to be running quite rich (9.xx range) in the 5000+ rpm range, and prior to that is not quite tuned either lol.

Is the correct table to adjust this "FUEL BP VE vs. RPM & MAP"? I was looking at the datalogs and was going to find at what rpm/map reading it was rich, then lower those numbers in that table.

I'm kinda new to this so if im right/wrong sofar lmk

thanks

Look for a table called power enrichment air fuel ratio vs rpm.I'm not at work so I cant look at my ecu file but It's called something like that. You will wont to move it from 10.1 to arround 13.1(start at 12.5)Make SMALL changes and keep notes. If you change that and do not get the desired result try tweeking the upper VE table at the rpm and map your rich at.Good luck.Later...Adam

Yup in the Tables section you will find "POWER ENRICHMENT AIRFUEL RATIO". You will correct the "desired" A/F ratio for the RPM you are running. Now I do not know your tuning knowledge...but to let you know these tables are ONLY looked at by the ECM when you are showing pressure...not vacuum...at the MAP sensor. I used to have a severe bog and a cloud of black smoke out the tailpipes when I would slam on the throttle at speed. After this table was adjusted...no more bog, smoke, or lose of power. It actually allowed for better throttle response and top end power. BE VERY CAREFUL you do not lean out too far. You say you have a WB02? Watch that and make small changes to the table. Too lean under boost and bye-bye pistons! ;)

wow this is even easier than I thought  :icon_biggrin: (with the right equipment of course)

thanks everyone

unfortunately my WB doesnt seem to be working anymore. I already got an RMA #. Hopefully its just the controller and not the sensor, since the sensor is not coverered under warranty. at least I have some logs to go by for now

I'm only going to make small changes and watch my air/fuel gauge in the meantime
