Title: My Z34 with fresh body and paint...finally
Post by: GOT2B GM on September 09, 2006, 02:06:56 PM
Well I took my 93 Z34 off the road in June, fully stripped the exterior down (excluding glass) and had Freiburgers Autobody weld in new rockers, pass side quarter panel, and install a new pass door.

The car had a fair amount of rust on it, but it runs like a champ with almost 240,000 km on it. I had him shave the bowtie off of the grill, paint the taillights Euro 3.4 style, and paint the mirrors white. I put my 18" 077's on it and put the crosslaces back on the TGP. Total cost for the body work and paint was $2700 CDN plus tax.

I'm really happy with the end result. It's a pretty damn good looking DD now IMO. What'd you guys think?....

Any comments are appreciated.

Great looking Z' Matt, looks like that body shop did a great job on the paint. :icon_mrgreen: I'm about to get my 250K mile 1993 GP repainted as well(stock "bright white" + some blue metallic flakes). Looks like you're keeping the TGP squeaky clean. :icon_mrgreen: Oh yeah, what's that car in the garage that's covered up?

Thanks Matt and Ryan! The car covered up is my dads 76 Olds Cutlass Supreme. He's owned it since 78 and it hasn't seen a winter since.

Well the pictures show a great job on the Z! Any fish eyes, orange peal, or runs? She looks great in the pictures though! ;)

No fisheyes, *slight* orange peel but barely noticeably (I've seen worse on new cars) and one run on the pass door from too much paint accumulating in the crease but he's going to wet sand it out.
