Title: Wont stay running.
Post by: krazedTGP on September 10, 2006, 10:52:40 PM
The problem is that the car will not stay running or start if no throttle is given to it.
Does it warm and cold. When it does stay running the idle jumps from 700 to about 1300 when it gets warm, then will shut down by itself.
Car will start fine when reprograming the computer but go to hell again in about 10 mintues and will die. Idle learned
No codes are shown. Have crossover pipe and jeffM chip.

things new in the car:
battery
coil pack
ignition module
plugs
wires
O2sensors
IAT

Doing a fuel pressure test it was  around 44PSI. After about 5 minutes it would be at 39-40 borderline.
When the car was running, the PSI was at 39-40 and would increase to 45 when given gas and quickly would drop to about 35 afterwards. The car would still need throttle not to die.
Ohm on the injectors are all 12.8-12.5.
Does this still sound like a bad injector or something else???

Well, the injectors are OHM'ing out what they are suppose to be at. I wonder if the injectors could be OHM'ing diferent when hot, than when cold. One of the other guys would have to answer that or tell if there is a diference. Other than that, Maybe a CPS (Crank Position Sensor), Maybe a fuel pump, it sounds like its good or borderline good.

You can get them at rockauto.com or any junkyard might have some that will work

Have you replaced your Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) with a known good unit?
