I haven't done any testing to see if its the fan itself or the wiring, but I'm thinking probably the wiring got messed up when the dealer did the tranny. Anyways, I'm going to see if the wiring has power to see if its the fan or the wiring, but either way the fan doesn't work. I kept noticing that when stopped the car would heat up and heat up FAST. It never used to run over the second line from the bottom, and it lately had been consistantly going to the mark above 220! :icon_eek: Today while driving around it got really bad (the check gauges light came on :icon_frown:) and I finally put two and two together when I didn't hear the fan running. I got my scantool out and turned on the I/C fan, but that did little good.
I just need to know if anyone has a wiring diagram for the radiator fan so I can trace it if need be. Also, anyone got a fan if it happens to be the fan?
did you check your pms??
and if you are getting the tranny still... i got a fan i can give you if it does eed replacing
Yeah I did. Been working a lot, haven't had a chance to call.
Just checked the wiring and there is 12v at the plug so I need a fan. :icon_sad: Oh well, can't complain since it is a 17 year old fan.
When my TGP primary fan died, I took the primary fan blade and motor from a 95 - 99 Lumina and installed in the stock TGP fan bracket. Plugs right in and fits/works great. It also has curved fan blades as opposed to straight ones, so it's actually a bit quieter than the stock fan.
I would bet its your Rad Fan Motor being burnt. Do as 93Luminaz34 did after you test it. Otherwise your going to end up paying some 300-400 bucks from the dealer or parts stores since the make you replace the fan, as well as the motor.
