Ok, so while it seems I have way too many cars, 5 to be exact, and that 3 of the ones I've mentioned before need lots of work...I've been pondering what it would take to get my 5th car in running condition. I don't think I've mentioned her here before, but it's a 1966 Plymouth Barracuda. I got this off a buddy close to a year ago, and almost gave up on it before starting, but I need advice. What would it take to get it running? It hasn't run in close to 15-20 years, and from what I'm told, it was parked only because the guy moved to the cities, about 2 hours from here, and had no room. I got it for a very decent price, and when we pulled off the starter, the gears moved when I pushed them with my fingers, which tells me the engine is not stuck tight. So again I ask: what would it take? If it would take too much I might just say hell with it, part ways, and make some money so I can fix up my TGP. Body is covered in dust, tires are flat, but it's in damn near mint condition. There was one (1) small ding, and I mean small, around the chrome headlight surround, and I think that was all, excepting minor paint chips from normal driving. 77,000 original miles, only has the 225 slant 6, but it's all stock and numbers matching.
Advice? Anyone lol? If anyone wants me to, I can post pictures. Thanks alot!

Ok, so I find out when I go to upload the pictures I deleted them last month when I cleaned out my computer. I'm kicking myself, but I'll find some somehow...
If you think the engine is not locked up, why not put some fresh gas in, change the oil, get a new battery and try to fire it up? Might have to clean the carb too since the old gas is probably varnished.
I know it's not the same beast, but we had an old 8hp briggs on a large mower. I just took the carb off, cleaned the bowl out, put some fresh gas in and it started right up. It had sat for 10+ years.
I think it's worth a shot.
Do you think I'd run a risk of ruining something? One guy at work was telling me the engine innards coulda gotten rusty, or that something could be ruined, but I've also heard it could be fine to do just what you suggested...
My uncle has a 66 Cuda , it has original/rebuilt 273 v8 and trans. The 225s are a pretty reliable motor, my buddy had one in a Valiant , besides a hole in the gas line, the motor ran good. Id definately be interested in picking that up...
Yeah last summer I got to drive a 225 in a Valiant also, that thing has some go...lots of torque and it just didn't wanna seem to quit. Any idea if a 318 o 360 would bolt right in? Or would there need to be more mods? Don't worry I'm keeping the 225, just working on it while there's something else in there.
