Went to Pep Boys for an oil change today. The younger guys there were all gawking at the car. :icon_eek: I went into the room behind the glass and watched intently. They gathered around the car. Checking out the engine compartment real close. "There really is a turbo in there!" One of them glances over at me and they all disperse. When they're done, it looks like they argue over who would drive it out. At checkout the guy/kid procedes to babble on and on about the car, and wanting something similar, how fast does it go? etc...

Who woulda thought an oil change could be fun?
Been there done that a bunch of times. And yes it is fun. Although one of the best was a 4 wheele alingment.

Letting Pep Boys change your oil? Shame on you! ;)
Meant to type Jiffy Lube. Not sure that makes much difference or not.
I like getting my oil changed on a whim. Look down, 3,000 miles, pull into Jiffy Lube, done. I'm not a mechanic. I do tool around. ;) But, it's just too convenient. No mess, no cleanup. I check fluid levels and cap tightness later.
You should do it yourself lol It's not hard. :icon_razz:

True, but getting rid of the oil and filter in the proper manner is a big PIA. :icon_evil: Can't dump it down the sewer anymore at least if you have a conscious you don't.

I drop mine off at autozone here in town, they take old oil to recycle it. I hauled 10 gallons up there the other day. :icon_eek: I change the oil in quite a few cars on a regular basis for my family members and friends...
I love that feeling. I get that with the AWD's when I take them in for a $15 Firestone oil change. Same thing happens, except with the car in the air. One guy will be underneath when I pass by the glass the first time, with a confused, "wtf is a driveshaft doing under a 6000" look on his face. The next time I pass by, every mechanic is under the car, inspecting the drivetrain. It's quite the conversation piece. :icon_mrgreen:
