you guys should try the full 3400 swap its awesome. except for trying to get it tuned

noticed the TGP has those dogbone type front mounts. I wonder if the tranny and rear mounts are the same as a jbody.

I only had to change my front motor mount->engine bracket on mine, but its a jbody

Scott,

The 3400 is a good engine but no one (to my knowledge) has run them turboed for any long periods yet.  Most of us have too much time & $$ wrapped up in our 3.1 blocks to do the complete swap but time will tell.

Along with a growing number of others I will be in the 3X00 hybrid category soon as I was given a 3100 (big bore) top end last summer.  Its quick, relatively easy, and cheap which is a key for most of us.

Let us know how it turns out and e-mail / PM Kenny (TGPilot) or post your questions for tuning help.

oh, I've actually already done the 3400/3.1 hybrid swap and the full 3400 swap lol

on the hybrid it spun the cam and wiped a few exhaust lobes clean  :icon_eek:

I've got mine tuned pretty well now, the BLM stays close to 128 on part-throttle (between 127-129). I dont have a WB right now to tune WOT, but I did log it with a WB02 at one point, and it was like 9.xx AFR above 5k (I know thats too rich but im going to leave it alone until I get another working WB)

it stalls alot though. when I first start the car it will sit and idle forever when its parked, but when I'm comming to a stop the INT drops and it stalls. the BLM doesnt change and its at 128 when this happens.

IIRC there is a place to buy premade kits for the 99+ GA's.  I have seen a web page for it but I am too lazy to look for you.  I plan on a 3400 top end swap someday, possibly the whole things, we will see what funds allow.
