I have decided to part out my black 89 with 110,00 miles. Page 4 has some updates on what is available or just PM me and I will always respond within 24-48 hours.
Texas car through 4/03. Have put 45K on this since 04 when I rebuilt the moto to stock specs. Car is driveable if you are not weak at heart (no hood on the car, no horn, no front R lights at all, power seats stopped working during my wreck??, frame is bent--guaranteed salvage title next transfer, new rear brake calipers, pads, proportioning valve, etc in 7/06. Tires are needing replace all the way around but these are on the SILVER crosslace wheels with the same offset and width as TGP. Front valance is still good/better than some I've seen, Hud is accurate but needs soldered, Passenger seat is worth keeping/Driver seat has holes in one thigh booster. Passenger door is good, driver door is good/exterior handle not working, trunk is good with clear coat failing, ass end is good, B4U is good from doors to rear--not perfect but no breaks, sunroof works, steering wheeel controls work, heater buttons are beginning to smash in, now for the mechanicals on the engine/trans.
Engine was rebuilt(65K) in 1/04-blueprinted to OEM specks with an auxillary oiler added made from 1/16 or 3/32 i.d.tubing for the oiling issue on the #9
cam lobes--this is what has failed for me 2 times-- in this 89 and another 90TGP I had in '94. Upper and Lower intake manifolds are coated with heat reflective capacity ceramic--front valve cover also coated in this chrome colored ceramic. Exhaust manifolds are coated with a black heat reflective ceramic. Jeff M crossover also coated inthe black ceramic (flex joints were left uncoated due to the flexing under expansion/contraction cycles was said to possiby crack and flake the coating). Turbo is coated with the chrome color on the front half and black on the back half--eliminates the need for the turbo "tear apart" blanket. Turbo is still good but does have 110K on it--probably due for a fix soon--with any luck you might get another 110K out of it I really couldn't say. I've always had a K & N on the car. All engine management sensors were replaced in 1/04 as well as all vacuum lines including the one feeding the throttle body (GM only part). Transmission is slipping I believe, I have not lost any gears but it doesn't feel like the power is getting to the pavement under hard acceleration, needs rebuild unless a very womanly driver were to take posession of the car/trans soon. Coatings alone were around $600 and that is the reason for my desire to get some $$ out of this.
OK,this car was my baby and it hurts to let it go and I will not take less than $850 for the whole car and will not take less than $600 for the motor. I have 4K in receipts just since 1/04--yes I know some is routine maintenance but I know how that stuff gets pushed back due to other expenses and priorities--especially for people who might take this to the dealership and look at the balance in the checkbook to try to justify the expense. I did or helped do everything to this car that I possibly could and it saved me probably 3K in labor!!!! Not trying to scare folks off but just want you to know if you are planning on a project prepare yourself. I will also let you know that I have a full time job doing physical work and will not be able to rent a cherry picker and pull the trans and motor within 24 hours of someones request for such. I intend to pull the motor as soon as the weather begins to warm or when someone has given me a feeling that they really want it. Other smaller things from the interior or that will not make it unsafe to drive may be available next week depending on my work schedule. This is just a preliminary heads up if you are looking at buying some nice parts or an entire running but not realistically resotorable vehicle.
I drive this thing at least 3 times per week and it seems to be running great other than the tranny problem. Oh yea the seats have worked since I redid some wiring inside the consolewhere the whole loom bends when the console closes--they just stopped when I had the wreck--could be another wire issue in the console rewire or could have something to do with the wreck--I do not know. I will check messages at least 1 time every 2 days to answer questions or put some pictures up somewhere--possibly through Kenny on here. If I do not generate interest on the boards, this thing will go to sleezebay.
Thanks, and God Bless. Car is locatred in Omaha, NE.
I edited and put the price in BOLD so people can actually see that stand out through that super whopper paragraph
Yeah I know in this day of ebay and 2 celphones and a pager on you belt or in your pocket people just don't talk with any detail. Didn't want 6,000 questions tomorrow but it looks like people are reading this board again. How is Jeff doing these days--he used to ramble on but seems to have been hit withthe busy bug last 6 months--of coarse his rambling was usually a good thing and sometimes extremely informative.
I will tell ya now many people will see that thing and not bother reading it unless you use the ENTER key after a few sentences.
to each there own but if you wanna sell something make it easy for people to read.
You can add pictures yourself by clicking on "Additional Options" under the reply box. You can upload 4 500k pictures per post. Just reply to your own post to add more pictures.
Good luck on the sale.
OMG I'm sorry! I can't believe I missed that! :icon_redface: Too bad you're not closer to me!

Pics of car please..
I will get some pics of the car up over the weekend if weather cooperates. Check the topic on Sat. afternoon, and thanks Kenny for the info on posting pics. Forgot to say that the has the beechwood leather, will add this to the description as well. Brian, are you in the Chicago area? I remember talking to you some time ago and seems like you were in the Chicago area.
If you have it, can I get a rear bumper reflector? I need one of the red reflectors that go above each exhaust tip.
Nick, you can get those in a junk yard just as cheap as this fella can sell it to you. There must have been as many as 13 1992-3 GP in daytona beach J/Y. If I knew that, then I sure would've grab it. :icon_cool:
So Maddux, do you have one of the red rear bumper reflectors that go above the exhaust tips?
guys let keep it a Parts F/S thread ;)
Hello Maddux!!
Your thread was referred as we're looking for a hood, bumper and grills for 1990 Turbo Grand Prix. Our son was in an auto accident and the insurance company has relented to fix it if we can locate the parts listed. I noticed you didn't have a hood but how about the front bumper and grills? Thanks. Aidago
Thread edited by me to keep it on topic.
Thanks guys! ;)
I am interested in the coated exhaust manifolds, crossover & upper and lower intakes. Did you notice any differances with thermal managment with these items coated? Pics of these parts and what your looking to get for these would be nice also.
Does it have a tan interior? If so, I'm looking for the hood/fuel door release lever trim if its in decent shape.
will comment tonight on the coatings, off to work. sorry
What condition is the interior, i.e. the door panels and headliner, in? Also, didn't pick this up in the original post, but do you ship or is it pick it up yourself?
Oh and what condition are the two grille parts in?
|Grinders 18: I will check on the grll parts on the wrecked car, if there are any you have dibs--$10.0+shiping.------if any on the bumper in the garage Aidago has dibs ($5.0/each with purchase of bumper) via a previous request----you have my phone#. I believe I have a set of hood/gas/etc. release that may be available, if so these go to grinders 18 also($10 for all).

I have not had the car on a dyno or really raced it since the rebuild as I had hurt my back at work in the fall of 2003 and used the car for a hobby/outlet and traveling w/my son. HEADERS have a couple rust spots on them but the company that coated them (moore power coatings---Waverly, Nebraska---contact is Pat) says that if they're removed they can easily be cleaned with no damage to coating said to be from coolant or water or my money back. Cost of the exhaust manifolds was 100.oo I believe. Upper and lower intake manifolds wereabout 140.oo I believe. I will take 150.oo for the exhaust manifolds and the 2 intakes---this will include delivery confirmation and insurance to 150.00 in the lower 48. Make me an offer I may end up being desparate to do this V-8 DATSUN 280z conversion. I said headers above-but meant to say exhaust manifolds. The one great thing that I noticed immediately about the silve/chrome coating is that cleanup is a breeze. Looks like a piece of chrome when you are done with the GARDEN HOSE.
EVERYONE-----------I will get some decent pics up when I have time and the weather is decent here (next 2 days). Work is push, push for the next 24 hours. I will be able to get some GOOD pics of the parts that have been inquired about and the entire car before SAT.---------weather did not cooperate last weekend SORRY. Car will be going to junkyard on March 1 at the latest. Thanks, D.M.

Hey Maddux thanks alot! But I believe 93luminaz34 called dibs on the hood/gas release. :icon_wink:
thanks for clarifying that....waiting on pics...
Here are a few pics of the engine bay and hood release for the guys who inquired about them. I will take a couple of pics of the car itself later as I am going to wash it before pulling it in the garage for the tear down. Anything else anyone wants a photo of? I'llpost pics of the other bumper cover for Aidago also tonight.
How much for those fancy spark plug wires??
Do you have pics of the accident damage??

posted a photo for you--kind of dirty but no cracks in it. Have the car in heated garage now so I will be pulling some things on Monday. Let me know what else you may need. Dale M.

How much for those fancy spark plug wires??
Plug wires are TAYLOR/VERTEX spiro pros with the straight (180 deg) boot 8MM. These were installed new in March 06 ($80 i believe :icon_eek:)and were done only after I went and bought $30 tool from Taylor to do it right. :icon_wink: These are not the easiest wires to do but I challenge anyone to do a better job--this is the 2nd set I've owned in 10 years--they are some of the best and look good also :icon_cool:
Do you have pics of the accident damage??
Here are some small pics of the damage. Radiator has one bent tube in the front and some damaged fins but the thing is holding pressure and the car temp is running where it always has. Went for the final ride in the TGP today and 100MPH was not really that shaky--transmission seemed fine also. She will be missed dearly :icon_sad: :icon_sad:
Two more pics of damage
Here are some pics of the seats.
Passenger side exterior pics....
Drivers side exterior pics.....
And the back end of the car.
Give me a price on the wire set, K&N setup, and the 3 turbo decals. Shipped to 63376.
EDIT: how is the valance? price on that as well.

And the back end of the car.
I take it you haven't taken the reflector off yet? lol j/k
You willing to sell the Jeff M Xover by itself? If so PM a price shipped to postal Code k2s 1c4(Ottawa ontario Canada)
So it sounds like you're willing to part the motor?
I think all I'm intersted in is the EGR tube IF it's not cracked and the plastic clip for the vacumm lines on the throttle body :icon_cool:
oh, and I'd also be interested in just the heat wrap on and of the IC pipes. I don't really need the whole pipe, so if you were interested in parting with just the wrap...
let me know, and prices and such.
pm sent
Here are some pictures that were requested but no email address fro receiving them. Header wrap is about 17-18 feet in length and has 1 small hole in it. It does have some charring from the non blanketted turbo. I never realized this until removing the charge pipe. Wrap has been on there since coating the turbocharger. Wrap is not what I would call burnt though--just a little charred--not brittle and crumbling. Pictures of EGR tube will follow....
here are the pics of EGR tube, I will not even attempt to remove this thing from the valve--If you want it you can do the work of taking it apart....or just replace as a unit-that is what I would do. No holes in this that I can see and I looked it over very good.
I also have a hood louver and screen with 2 drip trays that I forgot about. No cracks in this--it is the drivers side louver and screen with a tray for each side. Camera went dead but if you want I can post a pic later today.
Alright, well I'll pass on the vacumm clip, but how much would you want for the EGR + wrap? shipped to 02852. thanks
I got my part yesterday- thanks Dale! ;)
Want to update the parts that are already sold. Exhaust manifolds and upper/lower intake manifolds are sold. Turbo and crossover are pending sale. Wire set, K&N, and emblems are pending sale. Valance is pending sale due to I have not removed it yet. Everything else is still there except for a couple small interior items. The front valve cover is still there and is coated in the chrome ceramic--looks good on the front of the engine. If you want anything I can email pics or put them in the thread here. Let me know, Dale M.
The Money Order left out on monday for those parts. But now I am finding out I need another part. My windsheild washer bottle split open when it froze. How is yours? PM with details please...
Here is a picture of the windshield washer for Brian in St. Louis area. If there was someone who called dibs on this let me know--somebody wanted it and then I believe they emailed and said to forget it. 14 hour days at work and tearing this car apart are all running together. 1 more day and vacation starts!!!!!!!!!!! Hole for stud mount is cracked out but does not affect the function. I put a blue background in so damaged hole could be seen well. Pretty thumbnail is also visible!!!!!!!!
Let me know in a PM what the story ends up being. Hopefully befor you ship my other parts so we can combine shipping type of thing..

This baby is going to the junkyard March 1. Please buy some stuff and if you are wondering--check my ebay feedback {madduxx31 ((with 2 x's))..........'nuff said. Thanks, Dale Malcolm.
Hey. I'd like dibs on the owners manual. Is it complete with supplement? Also, can you post a pic of the front valve cover? I would like to get that and the plenum done the same. Thanks.
How much for the power antenna? Is the mast in good shape?? I'm considering it for my cutty vert....
what do you want for the rest of th turbo parts and the rad if it's still available?
oh and the engine harness and pcm if they are available
Any update on the Valance?
do you have a set of injectors?
Turbo/engine/cooling parts will be listed seperately tonight with prices requested for them............Dale Malcolm. Well the guy that bought all this stuff just backed out due to a wreck of the daily driver so project is on the hold. I will try to list these tonight.
is the PMIII is working? :icon_redface:
