Title: FS: 1990 TGP 5-speed
Post by: TGPilot on January 18, 2007, 11:27:36 AM
Well guys I hate to sell her but I need a truck for the shop.

1. Price = $2750 obo. Mileage - about 120k miles after figuring it out with Luke. The cluster has been replaced and it works perfectly except the odo is stuck at 104k miles. It had 114k on it when the cluster was swapped. If asking price is met I will deliver her for free within 500 miles of Colorado Springs. After that...buy me an airplane ticket and pay for the fuel and it is delivered. The car gets between 30-32 MPG on the highway cruise.

2. Exterior is obviously Red. Condition...if you keep up on the wax she shines nice. It does have some hail damage thanks to Luke and his sacrifice. :icon_evil:  ;) ZERO RUST ANYWHERE ON THIS CAR!!! Chips in paint on hood. Windshield will be replaced if asking price met. Has a crack and Colorado Traction Control pits in it. No salt in the winter...but the traction control plays hell on paint and windshields. :icon_frown:

3. Interior is Tan Leather which is in real good shape except the drivers seat lat pad is worn with a small hole. I would think that could be fixed by an upholster shop for minimal cost.

4. ALL Accessories work fine. Seats work, windows work, drivers side PDL does not, moonroof opens and does not leak, stereo is a Pioneer DH47 with top of the line Boston Acoustics 6x9 3 ways in the rear, top of the line Boston Acoustic 4x6 2 way in the dash, and JBL component speakers in the door. Comes with the car. Turn signal could be replaced. You just have to fidge with the stalk when making a turn.

5. Running condition...GREAT! The tranny is doing just fine without slop or synchro grind. Tranny had 10K miles on it when it was swapped at about 110K miles on the chassis. The clutch holds on the road. Tires will spin. If on VHT at the drag strip with low tire pressure for traction the clutch will slip in third. Best 1/4 was 15.1 with the clutch slipping through top of 2nd and all of third. If asking price is met I will replace the clutch with whatever you buy before the car is delivered. I am very confident that this is an easy low 14 second car at THIS altitude with a better clutch. It has a Jeff M cross-over on it from when Waskie owned it. The chip is MY chip which works perfectly and currently putting 195 HP and 268 ft/lbs uncorrected (Ran 263 HP and 360 ft/lbs corrected on a DynoJet in Denver). A/C blows cold. 160* T-stat installed. K&N Filter on it.

6. List o' parts needed or new. The ABS light is on due to a sensor issue on the front right wheel. Might be as simple as the wire, but honestly I hate ABS so with it not working I am happy. The turbo has a tiny bit of shaft play, but not in need of replacing too soon. Dog bone mounts will be replaced before delivery and motor and tranny mounts are fine. The tires are Continental Extreme Contact 245's. The fronts are better than 80% remaining. Rears are at 50-60% remaining. I love those tires and put a set on my TSTE. Great in the snow, rain, or PERFECT on the dry. The front left half shaft boot is ripped open. No noises or issues yet, but will be replaced free of charge of asking price met. Brakes are working fine. Have many miles left on the ceramic pads. It has KYB GR2's all the way around. They are about 4 years old but seem to be doing fine. It has a 7/8" Addco rear sway bar as well.

7. Pictures below. Will take better or specific ones if needed.

8. Located in Sunny Snowy Colorado.

As stated I will repair and replace items before I drive to you as long as the asking price is met. If you dicker on the price then obviously my break even point drops. IF YOU FIND ME A BUYER FOR THE ASKING PRICE I WILL GIVE YOU $50 cash or $100 credit towards a chip or cross-over.

Take care all and I hope some of you will post this on other forums to help in the sale.

-Kenny

Kuntzie sounds interested in my lowered price. We shall see if he comes through or not. I have my eye on one hell of a deal for a pick-up but the sale of the TGP is holding me back. :icon_rolleyes:

I'd be all over it if I didn't have my sights set on that 96 GTP. Hope it goes to someone who will enjoy it, it's still a damn nice car.
Title: Re: FS: 1990 TGP 5-speed
Post by: LukeZ34 on January 20, 2007, 08:09:20 PM
Jeff, after looking at my pictures I took of the damage, the hood got it the hardest, the roof and trunk weren't that bad at all.
Kenny, you want me to post the pictures I have?
Title: Re: FS: 1990 TGP 5-speed
Post by: TGPilot on January 20, 2007, 08:11:56 PM
Sure. I was going to take pictures at the shop under the fluorescent lights...but if you have pictures that is fine.
Title: Re: FS: 1990 TGP 5-speed
Post by: LukeZ34 on January 20, 2007, 08:33:22 PM
Your pictures may turn out better if it's under that lighting then.. Fluorescents seem to show imperfections better than any other type of light. Mine are taken in bright sunlight, and the only way you can see the dents is by looking at the building reflections in the paint.

I will take pictures on Monday when I return to the shop.

Interior pictures can be seen here. http://www.kazmotorsports.com/kenny/TGP_Interior/

The drivers seat is fully functional just has the blemish in the lat cushion as I said in the description. The rest of the interior is in pretty good to excellent shape...especially for a 17 year old car.

The carpet is dirty now because of all the snow we have gotten over the last month. I took out the floor mats to show how clean the carpet will be after a cleaning. It will be shampooed before delivery.

I have three potential buyers right now actually. One is willing to pay $2500 if I fix a couple of the minor things. We are negotiating the travel expense...which to me is not negotiable...but we will see.

But until the cash is in hand I do not consider a person a serious buyer. ;)

O/T, but Kenny where did you get the floormats for your TGP?  They look nice.
Title: Re: FS: 1990 TGP 5-speed
Post by: GPChief on January 23, 2007, 09:24:01 PM
If this car was BLACK it would not have even been offered for sale to the public !!!!!!!!!!! :icon_mrgreen:

As for the power of this car, and the suspension set up let me put it this way, I have a 1997 GTP 38K, ported blower, headers, 3" catback exhaust, DHP PCM, 3.2 pulley, ported TB, etc, etc, etc, Kenny pulls on me every darn time.

Yes, the car has some minor hail damage (show me a 1990 car that is perfect) but otherwise this is a good car that the new lucky owner will enjoy for many years to come.

I also got to say Kenny, that sure is tempting but two things stopping me distance and time. Colorado to Florida and work has me working long hours. Hell I don't even get on the internet till around 8:00. But I'm pretty sure it'll sell. :icon_cry: BTW Kenny we need to get together soon on my performance chip :flamingdevil:. Please PM me with information on how to get started. Thanks, Jimmy

Jimmy,

Are you wanting me to make you a chip or are you wanting to do it yourself with my help?

Nick,

There are no floormats in the pictures. I pulled them for one of the buyers to see how the carpet woudl clean up with a shampoo. The weather has not been nice here over the last month and a half so the mats and edging of the carpet is dirty.

I did leave a couple of things out.

Walbro 255 LPH High Pressure Fuel Pump
Ford Racing Yellow Top injectors
A/C Fin Mod
K&N on turbo air filter
Jeff M Cross-over from when Waskie owned the car
5-speed conversion

My custom tuned chip. With a stock turbo and top end I think I have the highest HP/Torque documented LG5.

Good luck with eBay Ken. Can I give you a bit of advice? And this is just me as a consumer. I would fix the small problems such as the ABS wire and locks. If you have insurance replace the windshield too. That way it wouldn't have to be listed. Also, way too much info was listed. Any one really interested is going to ask questions. That's when you can divulge the small quirks.
Maybe harp on the rarity and performance of the car. Does your HUD work? A pic of that would be sweet.
I'd hate to see someone steal this from you. Remember you are advertising to the world not just TGPForums.
Anyone here know marketing?

Fires in -14*F weather like it is 80*F.

Only way I would end it early is if I had a verified cashiers check or cold hard cash in my hand by Thursday afternoon. No I will not take a dime less than $2000.  ;)

2000 it is then.  I will go to the bank tomorrow to get a check for ya.  What is your address?   Also your gunna have to deliver it i will buy ya a plane ticket home.  And by thursday afternoon, can you push that to friday afternoon?  I would have to send the check via ups overnight to get it to you that fast.

Hold on a second. Where am I delivering it to? I/we need to check on airline tickets and have that included in the cashiers check along with the cost of gas to where ever I am driving to. Easy figure is 30MPG on the highway.

I would love to just up and say okee dokee, but (take no offense) I do not know you and you may be another "I have money" people who flake out when the time hits to make a deal. Cool?

Okay let me know.  I am going to do my school work! lol   I also have to work at 10 pm tonight so if you find something later write a post telling me how much you want the check for.  I will be around for another hour or so checking it.

As long as it runs as good as you say it does and all problems have been listed i don't have a problem with your terms and conditions.  If something is different then your description i will be mighty pissed and will let ppl know! :icon_wink:  But as you are a moderator and you run your own shop i have confidence you are disclosing all information on this car ;)
Title: Re: FS: 1990 TGP 5-speed

It will be next weekend before I am able to deliver it. When your check gets here it will be cashed and NON-REFUNDABLE. The car is As-Is / Where-is with no warranties. You understand that right?

Looks like:

$150.00 for the ticket into Denver.
$85 for gas

LAST QUESTION for you? You say school work? How old are you?
Title: Re: FS: 1990 TGP 5-speed

I am 23 years old.  I graduate from UW-Eau Claire on May 19th 2007. My major is business administration with a minor in management.  I currently own a 1993 cavalier z24 with a 3400 turbo in it.  The motor is fully rebuilt with arp rod bolts, wiseco forged pistons, crane cam, headers, t04e 46 trim turbo, greddy type s bov, spearco intercooler and a bunch of other things.  If things fail with a chip i am going to recieve, i might be calling on you to dyno tune! (since you are so good with it)  Also own a 1997 gtp.

You do understand what I said about when your check gets here it will be cashed and NON-REFUNDABLE. The car is As-Is / Where-is with no warranties. You understand that right?

I think the easiest for me (if it is ok with you) is to meet you somewhere at the Minneapolis Airport.

Money has been sent!  tracking number is 1ZA566OXO129747373  it is being shipped ups and will be there at 10:30 am tomorrow :icon_wink:

question for you?  what size injectors are the ford yellow tops?  I have seen 19's on an ebay auction for some
? the tgp injectors are 22lbs correct?  Also is the altitude change going to affect the tune you did on the car?
Title: Re: FS: 1990 TGP 5-speed
Post by: TGPilot on February 01, 2007, 11:03:01 AM
Check received, auction ended.

The Yellow Tops are rated for 19 or 20lbs...but in the wonderful world of Fords they are actually a higher lbs/hr than what they are rated for. I have been told they are somewhere between a 23 and 26lbs flow rate with our fuel line pressure.

I am going to tune your car as I drive if it is needed. I will have my laptop, emulator, and extra chip on hand during the low altitude trek. I am very confident that it will be fine, but I want to make sure that is true and it will be taken care of before you even sit behind the wheel. ;)

This is actually my second tgp so i know a little about them and know alot about the motors! ;)  Just don't know tuning!  Which i should learn and want to learn.
