Title: 1989 TGP for sale
Post by: bake82 on March 20, 2007, 02:14:00 PM
I've got my TGP for sale. I just bought it in December, but I am changing my idea of what I Want to do with my cars this summer, and the TGP doesn't fit into the picture.

81 k miles, red/tan leather, sunroof

new turbo cartridge put in in 99, but has low miles since
new paint 3 yrs ago
81 k miles
newer Z rated tires
tranny shifts really well (except issue below)
no to little rust(only surface)
rebuilt crossover
new front rotors and pads
new rear pads

Replaced within the last yr.

struts all around
CPS
o2
alternator
IAC

wires have less than 10k miles on them.

I'm looking for 2300  OBO for it.

PM to talk about it please.

Thanks

Kyle

Quick question: What's the paint code? Cuz that sure doesn't look like a stock red, even after it was repainted. Looks nice! Try and figure out the idle problems and my guess is it will sell for your asking price! What's wrong with the idle, from what you can tell?

I don't know the paint code.  I was told it was a stock re-paint :dunno:

With the idle.  It will either idle really high, and stay high, or it will be really low  and stall out.

Have you changed all your sensors? IAC, TPS, O2, CPS...? Have you run a compression test?

Sounds to me like you have a broken/leaking vacuum line or rubber coupler.  Mine did the same exact thing and I had 2 broken lines...  Fixed now!

Good idea! Trace the vacuum lines, all of them, and find a snapped, pinched, or melted one...something free that could boost your cars sale!

I haven't done anything yet,  but I will be adding the new brakes all around, and trying to track down the idle issue so it will run 100%

Once I'm out of school and the snow finally decides to go away I'm going to try and track down the issues.  I'll let you know if/when I find the problems.
