well the car hasn't been running in 8 months now, making the longest down time i've ever experienced. i blew my turbo up as some of you know, and was told that it could not be rebuilt. i was also informed that it had already been rebuilt once. so i bought another stock turbo from a member here, which came off a running car, but had some shaft play. i didn't want to take any chances so i sent it out for a rebuild. the compnay has now had it over a month and they just got back to me today to say it will be around $500 to rebuild this thing and that in their opinion it isn't worth it. just looking for thoughts/ideas/suggestions. anything at this point really. i'd upgrade but i don't want to spend a friggin fortune. i just want to drive and enjoy my car. thanks for anything guys
for a couple hundred more you can get yourself an upgrade, but there is likely to be tuning costs that will need to be done. $500 seems fair for a rebuild, what kind of warranty comes with it? Are they commenting on a cracked housing? If so don't worry about it. Common in these turbos, and doesn't seem to create much of an issue.

I paid alot for mine, but if you want a standard rebuild it's like $250-$300. Seriously great people who know what they're doing, and did the job within a week. Give them a shout out and tell them Kyle Krenz recommended them to you. I don't get anything out of it, but they like to hear that their customers are happy!
they didn't say anything about the housing being cracked. their thing is that it is harder to work on the smaller turbos with the machining involved
I can get this turbo for you for $250 + shipping
"the turbo is a t25 and the a/ris 42 they are a ball bear turbo no shft play the other side i dont knowbut thery are great shape and solid strong turbos"
Dunno if that helps....but if it does let me know and I'll see if I can get it for you!
Even after the rebuild it still came back with that( all familar crack) that we all love so much. I don't think you're going to like my idea. Save your money and get a Brand new one. Their I said it and good luck :thumb:
