well I am away at college and I do not have my TGP up there with me. So when I come home, I look foward to driving it, except for that my battery is constantally dead.... So dead, I do not even have dome lights when I open the door or a chime. It has been about 3 or 4 weeks since shes last seen daylight. I do have a system, but I do not see what that would have to do wit it?! Any input would be greately appreciated.
Thanks!
Well I do have a couple questions. How old is the battery? Do you have a Alarm on the car. The battery going dead could a couple things. One if it is a standard battery ,not a deep cycle, then if the car sets and the battery has been drained prevously then when you recharge it, it will not cahrge all the way back to max capacity. This also referd as deep cycing the battery.. With most standard batts this will cause damage to it. Even if you charge it back up it will only charge to maybe 80% of the possible 100%, and every time it is drained again it looses more. So if the battery is going dead after only a few days or say a week then its on its way out the door. You need a new one. With the alarm that does draw current, not much, I think most draw about 4amps when armed. I would suggest a good tough optima red or yellow top.. only thing here they are a bitch to get to fit.. you will have to remove jor relocate the windsheild fluid bottle. Or you could get a good high capacity batt at sears.. Then if the car is going to be sitting or stored I would either disconnect the batt or I think ChrisA on his web page had a storage charger that will keep the batt at full but will not over charge the batt.. Sorry for the long post.. I just know alot about this subject.. I have had multiple problems with my batts.. I finally put in a optima red top.. so I hope that helps.. KCP...
Question 1) Brand Spankin New, used once.
2) No Alarm
And it hasn't even been that long since it was last used???
Well that shoots my theory to shat!!! Next thing to do would be to take the car to a auto zone or something similar to have them check the charging system and the batt.. they might even be able to test the draw on the batt when the car is off.. could be something drawing to much current.. But I don't know what... Hope that helps...KCP
Check your rear seat light (pass. lights) if one is turned on it will kill it. I found this one the hard way!
lol! my child turned mine on and it drained the battery so low that even a jump wouldn't start it!!!!!
