Title: chip problem
Post by: charged 3.1 on July 10, 2007, 11:31:08 PM
Ok i just burned the 8F BIN onto a 27c256 chip and now i got a check engine light and my idle is at 2000 and the park&neutral rev limit is not there anymore. I did not change anything on the chip. It also smells like it may be running rich. I used TunerPro and i used my stock bin i pulled from my chip. I also used 8F_v1.2.XDF to view the bin. All i was trying to do is make a copy of my chip to make sure everything would work but now it seems like something got corrupt on my chip after i read it in the programmer. Can anyone help me out?
                   Thanks

What programmer are you using? Did you erase the 27C256 and make sure it was cleared before you reflashed it?

I'm using a Willem V3.1. I didn't erase my stock chip i just read it so i could get the bin file off of it and every since i read it, it's been running like that. The chips that i have are Microchip 27c256-15. Also today when i drove it the speedometer doesn't work either.
So my list of problems gets bigger. I'm lost. :(

Would i also get this problem if one or two of the pins are not getting a good connection to the memcal? When i KOEO the fan comes on and i can not read any codes.

Sure thing...sorry I could not point you right away to the specific problem. Glad to hear you got it figured out.
