Title: What are some road courses or challenging roads
Post by: Mike J. on October 29, 2002, 10:23:18 AM
I vote for Yosemite Valley Nat'l Park.  I took a 4k mile trip out there in my
wifes 98 Regal ,wish it was the TGP, because much of that park is nothing but  constant curves and accell/decelleration. I am just glad I replaced the crappy factory tires with some HP tires b4 the trip.  Any one posted any times on a road course or ever seen any posted TGP times.

State Route 83 in Ohio, rated as Road & Tracks top 25 roads to drive yearly, just watch out for the Amish buggies.

As a youngster I lived right on this road, hills, turns, off camber corners, long straight aways, it has it all plue some of the best scenery in the world!!

ooh ooh!!  highway 34 between Wheatland and Laramie WY!  20 miles of kickass twisties!!!  it's known as Sybille Canyon...  any of you Colorado folks heading north might pass thru this way....well worth it.  it's soooo much fun with a 5-speed  :)

also you could do a search on Deal's Gap. That is one insane stretch of road. Something like 318 turns in 11 miles.

If you are ever up in Washington State in the summer, take the North Cascades highway 20.  It's beautiful and FULL of the twisties!  I was driving on it about a year and a half ago with this idiot in a Cadilac on my butt.  He tried to pass a few times but just couldn't get around.  I played with him for awhile until I had enough.  I was in my GTP and needless to say he didn't last long once I got on it.  Now I can't wait to attack it in the TGP.  A great road!

I dont know the highways name, but its in Idaho Springs Colorado. Its about a 35+ mile road leading out of Idaho Springs going up to Mt. Evans. Not to mention, once you get to the top, its one hell of a veiw, and you have to take the same road back..
