Post by: dogginred90 on November 17, 2007, 08:47:51 PM
Hi guys,
I am having a problem. Got hot tune chip last week from kenny car ran great last weekend. A little hiccup a couple times. Got in this weekend and help backfiring and falls flat at 3/4 and WOT.(lost to a camaro with loud mufflers :icon_frown:. Bad night. Checked plugs back 3 were black fronts were fine. Changed them again at .028(with feeler gauge) same as before hesitating and no power. HELP ME AGAIN.
                                                             Thanks again

All I can say is it hauled last weekend it was fast no hesitation or nothing now it does the same thing when my gap was at .040.  I gapped a set at .025 going to try that today. Got to hurry snow is flying.

Alright guys I am stupid. Changed plugs, read some posts looked over things and found that when the car stutters it is overboosting. Checked wastegate via thumb over vacuam port and it does hold so my next knee jerk idea would be that factory crossover must be cracked. But how do I check it to see. I guess Kenny will be  getting more of my money soon. God bless Kenny. You guys have been a big help plese keep it up.

99% of factory cross-overs more than 6 months old are cracked. Some are easy to see the carbon trail...some you can not see until you pull the outer heat shielding and insulation. I had one sent to me that looked fine but with a pressure test it was obvious that it was leaking.

What plugs are you running? How old are the wires and what brand are they?
