ok so whenever i am turning at low speeds or when i go over bumps, there is this annoying knocking sound that appears to be coming from the right hand side of the car, its really bothering me because everytime i go over the slighest bump i can feel the knocking through my feet on the floorboard. A friend of mine said it could possibly be the wheel hubs but i had them checked and I was told that they were fine. Does anyone know what this could possibly be? I am hoping that someone has experienced a similar issue. I was told by another buddy that it could possibly be the control arms but i wanted to see what you guys thought???
i would say check the subframe bolts...good luck
There's a few things it could be.
1) Check your shocks/struts, make sure they are seated correctly. SOmehow, when I first got my TGP, the driver's side strut/shock/whatever was unscrewed from it mount...luckily they were able to screw it back in and it had not been stripped.
2) Knuckles?
3) Subframe bolts, as GPA suggested.
could be a whole host of problems, but things that haven't been mentioned are sway bar and ball joints, strut mounts, broken springs.
best thing to do would be to get a good look underneath and see whats going on.
do you know how to test ball joints?
No I do not know how to test ball joints :(
Rear strut bearing plates added to everything mentioned above...
When I first got my TGP, the RF strut rod was hitting the strut tower cap causing a knocking sound.
