car seem to boost great but after driving for about 15 min when the engone warm up it wont boost like before its really low boost can the wastegate go bad would a chip from tgp pilot fix all the problem that im having with this boost thing thank you for your time
Mine did the same thing and after changing alot of items thinking that they were my problem, turns out it wound up being the knock sensor.
How old is the cat converter and mufflers on the car? Sounds like you may have an exhaust restriction after heat builds in the system.
Also...my chips are DEFINITELY not a fix all for folks. You must have a properly running vehicle before you install one.
cat and muffler both looks new i been trying to find out whats wrong with this car for a few weeks now and still nothing can the boost solinoid go bad would that casue the problem
yea they can... if you hook your compressor vaccuum line directly to your wastegate, it should make 4 pounds. If you get consistant 4 pounds then your boost solenoid is probably bad. You might want to do this test with a new vacuum line. Never run the car without the wastegate line!!! good luck
thank you i will try that but one more thing i wanted to ask i dont know why but my boost solenoid looks alot diffrent than every ones i see in there engine pic but im not sure because i never get a good shot in there pic can someone post a good shot of the boost solenoid thank you but i will try that vac to the waste gate and ill give you guys an update
When I find something, I want someone to understand if there car is operating the same as mine was. TGPvsTIII will also tell you the same, after him watching me spend quite a bit of money on such a ridiculous problem: This is what it use to do: In the morning I would jump in the car for the first time, it would boost up to 11lbs give or take. I would manage to make it to the county line which is approximately 6 miles with red lights that could take 7 minutes roughly, right after that it would only boost to 3lbs. So me and Tim look and assumed it was the exhaust so I had a shop put on a 3" exhaust but did not fix my problem so then we bought another computer also no fix. So then we looked in my shop manual through the troubleshooting procedures and it kept taking us back to the knock sensor but everytime me and Tim took readings off the knock sensor, it would show good.Weird.
So finally coming up with no other conclusions we just changed it and Boom FIXED. Hope this makes you save more money than me :ugone2far:
Save more money?? LOL we're proud TGP owners. What the hell is money??
Thanks jimmy, thats good to know.
