I have never used one on my Dodge it didn't have one when I bought it and I didn't put one on when I replaced the turbo. At work most of the trucks use just a paper thin metal gasket. Some of the Dodge guys just put grease on the flange and let it burn after start up. They say the burnt oil fills any gaps and prevents leaks. I didn't try that I didn't want the smoke.
