Title: Outside door handles for '90 TGP
Post by: Dennis on November 12, 2002, 01:39:46 AM
Did anyone " get smart " and make anything but pot metal handles for our cars? Mine are wasted. Drivers side is gone and I can't get in the passenger side. Please help. ---- Dennis  :(

My handles broke too....i got new ones from the delaership, or check a boneyard. They are all the same on early 90's GP's. They are farily easy to put in, getting ur door open is a different story. P.S. See my post on broken driver side window, dont break a window. force the window down a bit and see if you can ppull the opposite side handle open. Good luck.

I know what your feeling. My passenger side broke and then while I was waiting for the other to come in the driver one broke while I was at a store in the middle of winter.
I ended up getting a broom stick and riged a coat hanger loop to the end with duck tape. This allowed me to get into the truck and stick my arm throught the pass through while a friend said up.. down.. forward etc. until I got it around the handle and then pulled allowing my friend top open the door. (Make sure door unlocked with key before you start)
