Hey guys, as many of you know I have a project car coming in that I'll be taking to an extreme...well, in TGP standards that is.
I've already started posts for the top end, and motor swaps, trans swaps, lowering springs, etc.
I want to get some opinions on paint.
the 90 TGP is black with the typical tan leather seats.
I love the look of the Red TGP's so that is my #1 choice if I was to change it instead of refinishing the stock black.
second choice would be Silvermist like my 99GTP
3rd would just be some odd color or 2-tone job. like gunmetal, or silver&black, red&black, or even blue.
what do you think is the best choice? or should I just get the car refinished with the foctory black and have it touched up?
getting the whole car painted wont be that expensive where I'm taking it, I know the owners of the business and their family.
so I'd get a good deal :icon_mrgreen:
I would go with the stock black color......maybe put some gold metal flake with the black for some bling ;)
Ken
Factory Bright Red....IF you truely wanna do something custom, add some metal flake.

The TGP black is already metallic with ***what appears to be*** gold, red, and blue flake. Here's a crappy picture, I'll take a better one as soon as I clean up my car. Under certain lighting, TGP's take on a slightly brown looking color due to the metallic paint.

x2. Black with metal flake would be awesome.

honestly I think TGP's look awsome in Red, Black looks too plain, but stock color has to copunt for something :icon_wink:
if I were to do a custom grand prix color, which I may one day do on the white, I would go with that "burnt orange" or whatever it's called... or a dark silver/grey

I was highly considering the orange, but I know I'd get crap from a lot of guys about it...lol
I think it looks hot, my 2005 ZX3 Focus had "burnt copper" which was basically a deep orange, and I loved it.
who cares as long as you like it....
Don't change the color of the car......from my experience unless you tear the car apart you will always have jams and stuff where the real color will show...plus if it chips or starts to fail you are going to have a red car with black paint in spots making it look like ass. Go with black or buy another car. Just my advice.

I love the Red TGP's but as long as there's a sunroof and the paint looks good, I'm fine with it.
I'd be getting the whole car done, meaning all the body panels removed and stripped then painted, along with the engine bay and door jams. it's a full paint job, not the $500 Macco crap.
