Good luck! Is it going to be extremely hot when you race? If so, get some ice + push the car in the staging lanes to keep it cool(er). ;)

If you can, experiment with using less than 100% throttle in order to lower your shiftpoints a bit(you might need to modulate the throttle to do so). My estimated "optimal" shiftpoints based on a togpun chipped dyno chart = 1st to 2nd @ 4950rpms
2nd to 3rd @ 4670rpms. Try to get it shifting anywhere in that general area and see if you go any quicker. My car pulls a good bit better when shifting lower vs. letting the transaxle shift on its own. ;)

Jim and I are going to have to line up :)  The GP feels a bit quicker with the twin cam exhaust on it (and the new motor/cam) :icon_biggrin:

You got my number right?  I'll be showing the white car since I'm waiting for my new front bumper to come in for the cobra (damn spider cracks in the paint from when the prix rolled into it last winter) Probably win something.....you might want to bring your turbo car and enter it, yours is looking pretty nice with that new bumper :)

O I am definately bringing the turbo, the white one is pretty much slow as balls... lol
And I hope we can line up, but I am pretty positive you will take me...:p
I might still have your number in my old phone, I will have to take a look and see if it will even still turn on, otherwise just pm me.

Well, the weather held up today, I got in a few runs, with a best of 14.88 at 91.62 mph. I will get my slips uploaded when I get some time to scan em. I was hopin to get 14.5, but I am still happy.

ok, here are my slips... ignore the 3rd one, nothing went right with that one... lol

I tried to scan them, but they came out barely readable. I am car 853. I posted in order of my runs

Right lane... raced a CamaroSS with a 402
(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/Meltboy1/Grand%20Prix/track%20june%2029th/DSC00638.jpg)

Left lane... raced some old ass caprice classic
(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/Meltboy1/Grand%20Prix/track%20june%2029th/DSC00637.jpg)

Right lane.... Raced a GTP, My launch was terrible, I let off a tad cuz I got terrible torque steer...

Left lane... I can't remember what this car was, I have to wait til I get my videos off my friend to check... lol
(http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e240/Meltboy1/Grand%20Prix/track%20june%2029th/DSC00639.jpg)

Right lane... Late 80's early 90's mustang....

I liked the left lane the best, but I wasn't fortunate enough to get it every time... o well.
I know my reaction times sucked, it was my first time, I need a lot of work at the track, I never realized there was so much to it. If I had just tapped the brake at the end of my last run I woulda had it cuz that mustand wasn't close to his time. Just when I saw him comin in my mirror I thought I had no chance so I just kept it floord, didn't realize he had set his time too low... :(

Yeah you will get better honest I never have run bracket racing, not sure if I want to either.  I prefer test and tune because I really only go to the track to see how fast my car is :)  You could use some help on those sixty foot times, are you spinning off the line?  Also if you want your R/T to be better hit the gas on the last yellow light......or where they using a pro tree?

Same here.

Improve on you launch then keep it very consistent and you're golden.  Don't change anything for when you bracket race (IE keep interior weight the same as always, dont keep changing mods, try to keep the same tires/pressures etc etc) .
For me, if I want to do something other than drag race, I will auto-x and have tons more fun than bracket racing.

Keep it up, you'll become a pro with time!

my launches all pretty much sucked...
any tips on RPM range, tire pressure, anything to help me out at all?? I am new to the race scene.

It was odd to me how this run I uploaded, I had the lowest of everything except 1/4 time and speed... I don't quite understand why?
