Title: squirrely front end andrear end kick out over harsh pavement
Post by: 1trucavalier on November 12, 2002, 08:05:23 AM
I got brand new shocks all the way around which cut down on some of the unstable front end and rear bounce but I got more problems.  When I go over bumps the front hits then the rear hits but it feels like the rear is gonna come around or almost like a independent front and rear feel.  I am used to a solid rear beam ( J-body) so I haven't experienced this before.  Is this normal in this type of unibody?  I am thinking strut tower braces and larger rear sway may remedy the problem but I just want some insight so as to buy the correct pieces in the correct order.  I checked my entire front end and everything is tight with no play.  I have noticed cracks in the a-arm bushings which is typical of a 13 year old vehicle and I am in the process of correcting that problem.  The car just feels unstable over bumps and at higher speeds so I usually don't exceed 60-65mph at least until I get a front end alignment then I will put these rims and tires on enkei rs6 and hannok ventus 235-45-17's.  Also my springs squeak like an old 76 cadillac thing they might be damaged?

I would say get it allined and check to make sure the Springs are in place and not bound on a bushing or something.....
