Title: Instrument cluster repair?
Post by: Shifter23 on August 25, 2008, 11:07:00 PM
I thought i found it here or on W-body but now i can't find the info on it!  I thought there were two resistors that needed replaced to make the cluster work correctly again.  Anyone know about this i have a couple bad ones and figured id give it a shot.

Let us know if you have any luck with that method. I still haven't bothered trying the fix on my car. It's on my list of things to do that I constantly forget about.

my hud is right on but my speedo is approx. 4 mph off. i even had specmo try and fix it when my daughter owned it. when i did the "lighted intercooled turbo" on the dash i resoldered the chip again and it fixed low fuel . coolant temp is also off a little according to my tech 1. i put all new sensors on when i rebuilt it last winter.

These clusters are not accurate from the factory.  Don't sweat it to much I'm sure a few degree's and mph here and there is not going to hurt anything.....just watch the hud if you are worried about getting a ticket.

I usually just swap parts around in the cluster until I get a combination that works well.  Of course you have that special TGP cluster with the boost gauge so that makes it hard.........I'm running a stock analog gauge cluster and there are plenty of those to go around in the junk yard.......good luck!  I'm not that good at soldering!
