Looking at an all original 88 GT 5 spd getrag
129.000 kms. White on charcoal leather with a power sunroof
black xlaces, no winters
He's asking 5800 cdn but i was thinking of offering $5000
To find a clean 88 GT that is a 5 spd is getting hard.....I think this car isnt a bad deal.
Any insight about fieros I should know? I know 88s have an updated suspension and braking system and parts are hard to find but other than that.........
Check under the rear wheels in the wheel well, there is part of the main space chasis there.........reach up at the 12 o'clock position with you hand and feel the rail.......it should not be spongy or rotted. This is a common spot for fiero's to rot and it has sent many a fiero to the scrapper......I know he said no winters.........but still other than that check suspension out.........ball joints, rod ends, wheel bearings........brakes........the rear brakes are $$$$ ask him/her if they have replaced the calipers or had them serviced lately....... oh and parking break cable........they are always broken
Ken
thanks man
Had a 88 GT 5-speed when I was getting my undergraduate degree years ago, loved that car, sold it to keep going to college. The cars took a big $$ loss when the 4 cyl engines were catching on fire. IIRC there were never any problems with the 6 cly cars.
I would get another one if the opportunity presented itself JMHO.
