Title: What do you think of your TGP?
Post by: Andrew on June 15, 2002, 11:30:43 PM
I have been looking at and falling in love with Turbo Grand Prixs for some time now. But always there has been one thought that i don't know if i can live with much longer. Are TGP's reliable? What i mean by reliable is a mixture of reliabitity, easy enough to do it yourself on most things, and HOW MUCH DOES THE ENGINE COST YOU TO REBUILD? The engine and turbo is what worries the me the most, everything else i at least think i can deal with. Should they worry me? I don't really know what to ask. I am sixteen and this would be my first car, so obviously in highschool you can't afford anything too expensive in base price, insurance, and MAINTINANCE. The latter is what concerns me most. If it wasn't for that nagging MAINTINANCE thought, more importantly, MAINTINANCE with a few $$$ after it i would buy one today. Well i don't know, I was hoping a few TGP owners do, Well, Thanks in Advance,                                    Andrew

:D I own 4 of them, once you put on a crossover, chip it and do the K&N air filter, and the oil return line, they are quite reliable. well baybe a ABS unit also depending on it's shape. Mine are reliable both on the street and on the race track also!!!

Well that sounds pretty good, i feel better, but just for knowledge sake, how much does it cost to rebuild or replace the TGP engine? How many miles do you have on your engines/ how long do they last. Thanks Again,
