Hey guys, I did a search and cant really find a good definition on how to tell if your crossover is shot. I have a 90 TGP that has 48k (no rust, very well cared for) on it and am in the process of obtaining a TG160 chip, K&N, and a thermostat. But I really would like to do everything right with no conflicting issues.
I know from reading this that the crossovers are a problem and would like to know what are the tell tale signs of a bad crossover. I think the car runs fine. Its quick but not fast. Maybe some pics would help or what are the issues experienced with driveability?
I still get around 24 on the highway. However for a turbo car it does seem to max boost slowly, but it does seem to boost to around 6 according to dash gauge.
I want to keep the car as close to stock appearing as possible in order to hold value as a future investment.

The above link is for crossover repair.
Try the search feature for symptoms:
Some symptoms are stalling, a exhaust smell from under the hood, and a lack of power.

Sometimes you can see black residue at the ends of the heat shield. The other leak point is on the flinges of the x-over to the exhaust manifolds. Look for black stains.
If not, consider your CAT converter clogging.
