Title: Problem City!
Post by: balkyrollsinred89 on December 15, 2008, 05:55:24 PM
This is just a bad week! First my guage lights, 4 days later some sort of wiring issue. I start my car and head out, everything is fine, run a few errands around town come home shut my car off. Go back out to leave again and the battery is completly dead. Nothin, no dome lights or anything. So i jump start it, starts fine.... shut it off...starts right back up again...do my running no problems. just try to leave  and once again its dead. I'm thinkin a positive wire grounding out somwhere. Anybody have any clue where to start?

Nevermind. I guess I'm just stupid enough for it having to be dark to find the problem. Brake light switch needs some adjustment. WOW

Me too. It's very common on these cars for the switch to need adjusting at some point.

Hahah X3!!!!!!!! I had that problem just before I put the car away for the winter!  I was like so confused, then I was driving around and the ABS started flashing I'm like on NOESSSS PMIII Fail!! too!?!?  Then I realized the brake switch was fucked up and adjusted it.  My recommendation is go to the parts man and get a new one, it will be an updated design and won't fuck up on you anymore.

I didnt look at it too much today, but how do I go about adjusting that brake light switch. There appears to be little to no room to do anything in there. Detailed instructions or maybe a diagram would be awesome. It will be a couple days before I get time to get out to the garage to look at it.
Thanks

Has anybody ever swapped out that electric brake thing for an actual mastercylinder?
