Title: Low fuel light

I have a 1991 grandprix se that I recently buyed and it came with one or two problems that I havent been able to solve yet, hope some of you guys know how. please have in mind that I live in Mexico and the gp was not available in this country until 1997 and dealers refuse to service import vehicles, but I can somehow buy replacement parts.

1. the fuel meter works ok, but the low fuel warning light wont turn off   even with a full tank, this also causes the check gauges light to turn on, I have already tried to disconnect all the wires at the fuel tank from inside the trunk, but this didn't solve the problem.

2. the previous owner told me that the car was equiped with keyless entry but the remote broke and was trown away. How do I know for sure if it is equiped with this system? are there any other remotes from other cars that will work with mine?

3. when I turn off the car and close the doors and I stay inside the vehicle I can hear after afew seconds a "click" sound coming from inside the door pannels just like if the door locks where trying to engage, but they don't. Does anyone know what is this sound?

any early 90s gm remote will work as long as it has 3 bottons and two of them are on the top and one is in the center below the others.

that seems to be normal for STE's every one I have ever been in does that including my current one

This has to do with the "passive restraint system". The seatbelts in the doors are actually intended to be a passive type restraint sytem. The click is the release on the doors disengaging. When you pull the door handle, a module keeps the seatbelts from locking as the door is opened, so that you can infact open the door. If it didn't have this feature, the belts would lock as the door moved, thinking you were in an abrupt maneuver and keep the doors from opening.
