Well i want to add some nitrous before next summer. This is what i got from 60* V6.

Comes down to one thing i know Adams gonna tell me... i really need to friggen datalog and get a wideband... this is getting rediculous, any opinions? I only wanted to use it for 3rd and 4th gear.
Ike if you want to keep the engine together I would suggest you get a WB and start logging that car. Further is this a gen II engine or is this a 3400 5 speed car? I can't remember but if it is a 3400 car or a top end swap car your compression ratio is already up there (correct me if I'm wrong Adam) and adding nitrous is only going to make it more risky than it is right now by adding detonation (potentially, I don't know anything about the tune Adam made for you but I'm sure it is plenty conservative on the fueling) Still I'm sure there is more power to be had there with your current setup if it is fine tuned with a WB. I dunno Ike you can only make so much power with these engines and have them last.....if your goal is high HP you really ought to build the engine around the mods you plan to do. For instance my next engine (if there ever is one) will be built for boost, low compression ratio, forged pistons, knife edged main bearings, shot peened connecting rods, shot peened crank you get the gist. I would hate to see you end up in my shoes Ike. It is so easy to add power with a turbo and nitrous you can get wrapped up in how much power you could potentially produce and forget about how much power you should be producing for a given setup. You don't want to be rebuilding the engine on a weekend like I did, it is not fun.

You can wire it into the ECM and log it right into tunerpro, Adam and I did this. He has the WB Bin that the boys on 60 degree setup for Mars, and somewhere on here is the log file Mars had setup which displays the WB

If you need help wiring up the LC-1 I can help you. You can stick it right into the factory O2 goes and run the car off one of the analog outputs (Simulated narrow band O2) from the WB controller. This is what I did the car will go into CL faster and runs more consistent than the crappy narrow band sensor. I'm willing to bet there is a few more ponies to be SAFELY had before going to nitrious.

alright im gonna strap down and get both of them. Correct me if im wrong , but high intake temps cause detonation so lowering IATs is generally the idea. Your probably right using nitrous is not a great idea because the extra oxygen would cause the engine to lean out and cause detonation but lowing intake temps would provide for safely running more timing. Actually I think a better solution would be using methanol, but not cheap wiper fluid that is not always an accurate mixture, more like real methanol. As long as the a/f mixture is safe, there is no reason to blow the motor up unless the internals themselves cant take it... but in terms of exploding the pistons, it shouldnt happen. Plus methanol seems like it would be way easier to tune because you need to pull fuel as oppose to nitrous where you have to add fuel. Its early so i apologize if im not making 100% sense here. thanks , Ike
I have often thought about spraying the TGP with nitrous and to be truthfull a 25-50 shot will not hurt the engine assuming everything else is still stock.. With my experience the Mahle pistons will take some abuse but not much more than the stockers.. Some forged units, 12lbs of boost and a 100 shot would be great :laugh: I've even seen the Supra guys spray nitrous right on the compressor housing to lower intake temps.. It works extremely well for them.... ;)
