I went to lunch today and say this car that looked a little weird. Anyone know how many they made.
some conversion company did this, olds never did to my knowledge.
Yeah I read something about it, but in my 35 years in exsistence I have never heard of one let alone see one. It was in real good shape, too
weird yet oddly appealing. It is so horrible I cannot look away!
Wow, I have never seen one of these and I sure hope it will be the last time.. I also would bet last weeks pay check that the top leaks... :icon_lol:
HAHA I have to agree on the not so appealing looks, but I was the same way I couldnt stop looking at it. And the top was in fairly rough shape.
That is actually a converted factory original? I think thats the terminolgy for it. The Manufacture made the car, then sent it out to 1 of 2 companys (one company did it in 84 and 85, and another did it for 86). Then sent to the dealer. The same was done for the Eurosport VR.
Buick, and Oldsmobile, seem to be the most common, the Pontiac being the rarest (if any were ever made), and the Chevy being the least common. I have seen one, or more, of each, except for the Pontiac. The Buick and Olds could be optioned way up, with leather, power everything, and a 3.8 motor. The celebs that I have seen have always been plain jane, with either the 2.8 carb, or 2.8 MPFI.

In that album is the 86 Chevy Celebrity Bill Clinton Convertable. This car just recently went up on ebay, I dont remember if it sold thou. Has 2 Celeb convertables, and another Oldsmobile.
And also, there was a Cloned 86 Chevy Celebrity Eurosport VR that auctioned recently on ebay. It didnt sell, but it was the best looking Celeb, or convertable (except the Allante), I have ever seen.
